AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR's Release Date Has Once Again Been Moved Forward For The UK

In a move that might not surprise, but will certainly disappoint US fans, Yahoo! Movies UK is reporting that the UK will get to see Avengers: Infinity War early.... but not much earlier! Take a look...

A few days ago, Marvel Studios, via an interaction on Twitter with Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr, revealed that the hotly anticipated Avengers: Infinity War was going to be released a full week earlier than expected, debuting worldwide on 27th April. The film's directors Joe and Anthony Russo released a statement following this reveal, saying they were "so excited to bring this to you one week earlier so fans around the world can see it at the same time".

This however, is no longer the case.

Today Yahoo! Movies UK has confirmed that the 19th entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the "finale" event of the franchise as we know it, will in fact be opening a day earlier in the United Kingdom, arriving on the 26th April.

This isn't an uncommon state of affairs, as the UK have regularly seen earlier releases of Disney's Marvel films, but with the amount of hype and anticipation around this one, there's likely to be more than a little bit of jealousy.

What do you think? Are you mad that the UK will get to see Thanos hit first? Or do you live there and are happy about this? Leave your thoughts below.

@Sweeney0407 - I'll be seeing it that night in the US anyway, so no, no it does not bother me.

The first showings will be on the 26th here in the states too.

It's gonna be out in various markets on the 26th, or even the 25th. Here in Germany new releases usually come out on Thursday, with a chance of Wednesday previews.

@Kyos - It comes out on the 25th in Sweden as well! Usually we get movies much much later than in the states. But Marvel usually release their movies earlier to generate more buzz

@Bokis - Exactly. And then there's the odd Marvel movie that doesn't follow that rule, and it sucks so much.

Me and my friends were extremely hyped for the first Guardians, but Germany got it over a month later than most other countries for some reason. We ended up taking a road trip up to Denmark just to see the damn movie earlier. ^^'

I was gonna question about spoilers being leaked like a wildfire, but then I realised theatres over here also release these films a day in advance, too.

Afterall, that's how I saved my parents lives by watching GOTG and avoiding the dark wretches of DotM.

@BlackBeltJones - yeaaaaahhh, we don't usually get more than a couple of days of snow a year, I guess it's easier to just tell us to stay inside.

@Fishandchips - That I loved, the everything shuts down part.

I was working over there for 2 weeks, my job is British owned, and I got 2 straight days off.

This isn’t news... everywhere the movie will have showings the day before that’s how it works they don’t do midnight showings anymore.

BeyondtheFuture - 3/8/2018, 3:37 PM
@Ha1frican - They do in the UK so you could actually say it's basically out on the 25th there or rather, here. It's redundant anyway, the whole plot is already online so people worried about spoilers already need to be careful.

It’s playing where I’m at on Thursday the 26th as well... 7 and 10pm showings...

We still get it first.

Even if it was still going to be out a week here before opening in the US, you still wouldn't get a peep of a spoiler from us in that one day.

In my country the release date hasn't changed. It's always been April 25th. Usually we have early screenings the day before too.

We usually get the Marvel movies (and many others) earlier. Ragnarok opened about two weeks earlier here than in the US.

Others movies come much later, like Shape of Water which didn't come here until February.

@ChrisRed - Same here but actually you will see it 24th right? I mean we have a midnight screening here in Finland I heard.
