JEREMY RENNER - Don't Expect Guardians In Avengers: Infinity War

While at this year's Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago, Jeremy Renner has revealed that the Guardians of The Galaxy might not be a part of Avengers: Infinity War after all. Click the jump for details!

In 2018, everything we have seen so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) will culminate in the (undoubtedly) action-packed epic, Avengers: Infinity War Part I, which will be concluded in 2019 in Avengers: Infinity War Part II. Based on the source material, and the inclusion of an Infinity Stone in Guardians of The Galaxy (as well as the importance of Thanos to Guardians member Gamora), fans have expected the Guardians of The Galaxy to team up with Earth's Mightiest Heroes when the two-part film rolls arounds. Unfortunately, this may NOT be case, according to Avengers: Age of Ultron star Jeremy Renner, who has played Hawkeye in a number of Marvel Studios films since Thor, including next year's Captain America: Civil War (where he will be donning what he has described as his favourite Hawkeye costume yet).

While at this year's Wizard World Comic Con in Chicago, Renner was asked about when the Guardians and the Avengers would finally meet up, and the answer may not please fans. Renner indicated that the Guardians would NOT be featured in the Avengers two-part threequel, saying that there will be Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2, "and then we've got ][Avengers:] Infinity War Part I and II".

Renner did, however, say that it IS likely that the two teams WILL crossover... eventually.
"You'll be eighty years old by then, and I won't be Hawkeye anymore. I'll be dead guy" joked Renner. All though, there is still obviously the possibility that Renner simply hasn't been informed of the Guardians crossing over into Infinity War as of yet, and it is always important to keep in mind that plans CAN and OFTEN DO change with the development of films, so nothing is concrete as of yet.

While at WWCC, Renner also seemingly revealed what side he will be on in Captain America: Civil War, and you can read NightWatcher's article on that by clicking here.

What's your opinion on Renner's comments? Do you think that what he said is accurate, or are you still expecting the Guardians of The Galaxy to tie into Avengers: Infinity War in some capacity? Let me know in the comments below, and be sure to share and hit that thumbs up button too!

If Marvel fails to at least have a few members of the Guardians in Infinity War 1/2, it will be a missed opportunity.

It makes narrative sense, the Guardians franchise is hot, and fans want to see it. So what the hell?

From Kevin Feige:

"Part of the fun of the comics is that could happen. Any character could interact with any other character because they inhabit the same time period and the same universe. And certainly it is the inclusion of Thanos most specifically that is a declaration to audiences who are paying attention that this is connected to those other universes. Part of the fun is that it could happen someday. I don’t know when that would be. Or maybe I know, and I’m not going to tell you!"

It will happen. And if not in Infinity War, when????

I don't necessarily buy it, and if it is true I feel like Marvel is missing out on a pretty big opportunity, but honestly... I'd be perfectly fine with this. I'd be more than happy to just let Gunn play with the Guardians in his own little cosmic corner that he carved into the MCU.

I do fully expect at least some of the Guardians to appear in this, though. Even if it's just a small part.

He's an actor. Why would anyone think he has the answer to this question?

I wasn't aware that there was already an Infinity War finished script accessible to him three years before the movie is even released....(sarcasm)
