Back when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was shot, James Gunn filmed a number of cameos for Stan "The Man" Lee and it now appears as if the Russo Brothers have done at least a few more of them.
During a recent interview, Avengers: Infinity War co-director Joe Russo talked about working with the comic book creator on the set of the movie and how he and Anthony went about shooting a series of cameos for Lee (which, sadly, could be among his last given those upsetting reports about his health).
"So, Stan, typically we try to get him out — he doesn’t love to fly — so we try to get him out for his cameos around the same time," the filmmaker explained. "So if we have other movies shooting on the same lot that we’re on, for instance Ant-Man 2 or Avengers 4, we group his cameos together and then move him from one set to the next and kind of get him through his cameos in one day."
Based on Russo's remarks, it appears as if we can expect to see Lee in Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and Avengers 4 (and Captain Marvel too in all likelihood). What his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe looks like beyond that remains to be seen but we'll be sure to keep you updated.
