This Japanese Promo For AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Would Make SquareSoft Proud

That's right, SquareSoft, not SquarEnix. This international promo for Avengers: Infinity War harkens back to the old, glory days of the Final Fantasy video game studio, before its 2003 merger with Enix.

If you love old school JRPGS or were an avid gamer back in the late-90s, you'll definitely get a kick out of this clever Japanese trailer for Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War. There's definitely a Final Fantasy VII-esque feel to the promo.

If we continue the Final Fantasy VII comparison, Thanos would definitely be one of the biomechanical end-game bosses players encounter after defeating Sephiroth and Jenova. But would he be Ultimate Weapon or Diamon Weapon? For that matter, which of the Avengers would be Cloud Strife and who would make the ultimate sacrifice like Aerith Gainsborough?

We'll all have a greater ability to make this comparison later tonight as early Thursday preview showings for Infinity War kickoff in North America.
