AVENGERS: QUANTUM ENCOUNTER - Captain America, Ms. Marvel, And Captain Marvel All Meet In Disney Cruise Video

A video shared on Disney's Cruise Line reveals an awesome team-up with Captain America, Ms. Marvel, The Wasp, and Captain Marvel, potentially teasing what The Avengers could now look like in the MCU...

In The Falcon and The Winter Soldier's finale, Sam Wilson finally became the MCU's new Captain America. We haven't seen him since, though Anthony Mackie did reprise the role for a fun Hyundai commercial last year. Now, he's suited up for an action-packed adventure shot for the viewing pleasure of those who travel on Disney's Cruise Line.

Joined by Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel, Cap squares off with a number of Ultron drones before The Wasp and Captain Marvel arrive to lend a hand. This actually marks the first time we've seen Kamala Khan suited up and kicking ass, and if this video is any indication, those Noor powers are sticking around (meaning theories about her gaining her classic comic book abilties are incorrect).

Kamala doesn't get to actually meet Carol Danvers, so that's obviously being saved for The Marvels. Despite that, Ms. Marvel is clearly having fun heading into action alongside Captain America and is referenced as a "trainee Avenger" here.

It's important to note that nothing you see here is considered MCU canon. Like Disneyland's Avengers Campus, these stories and team-ups take place in a different reality that, while similar to what we see in the movies and TV shows, doesn't contradict what happens in the MCU itself.

The production values here are impressive, anyway, and fans are already pleased to have seen Ant-Man address those memes about him defeating Thanos in a very graphic way. Unfortunately, the video cuts off before we get to find out how they beat Ultron, but seeing that villain again only makes us wish Marvel Studios would do something with the android.

Check out this fun team-up for Earth's Mightiest Heroes in the player below:

Kind of sad to be honest...
These actors have to turn down other jobs in case Disney calls on them. Just imagine getting the call they need you and you find out this is your project...
A video for an overpriced Disney Cruise. I do see what Elizabeth Olsen was talking about.

@kider2 - idk it’s not a full on movie production here. Just a quick promotional action scene. I do wonder how long it took to shoot though
kider2
kider2 - 7/1/2022, 9:17 AM
@GhostDog - Yes it might not take as long to shoot as a movie but if they need you for a week that can cause scheduling conflicts for other projects. In which case they are not gonna go with the actor who might be unavailable unexpectedly and causing the entire production to stop. Or you know just replace them with someone else if they did get the role.

@kider2 - I’m sure the shit ton of money they’re making more than makes up for it.

@kider2 - that’s true. I’m sure the fat check they get helps to reconcile with maybe losing out on another role lol.

@GhostDog - I know why Mackie was there anyway. Checks need to be cut.

@Gmoney84 - All these MCU and DCEU actors are eating good and not worried about food or gas prices. So I'll be easy on the poor actors. Plus Elizabeth lost out due to covid because these MCU movies doesn't take long to shoot 🤦🏽🙄😹

I'm sure this is nice for the kids and all, but I'd rather not see this type of stuff to disassociate it as much as possible from the movies. Even if it isn't canon, it's hard to not see the same characters when it's the same actors playing those roles.

It all just makes it feel so Vought-y.
GhostDog
GhostDog - 7/1/2022, 9:17 AM
@Fares - makes sense then. The Boys is a satire of what’s going on in the real world at times so I guess this sort of thing fits.

Avengers Campus does have other actors so I wonder the reasoning behind using the movie actors here

@Fares - what irks me is the fact that every Marvel product sans comics is mcu-fied which sucks cause the mcu should introduce people to the og versions from the comics

@Fares - ''I'm sure this is nice for the kids and all''

Just summarized the whole enterprise of Disney and subsidiaries right there.

But I agree, it does feel kind weird. Just gonna throw these adventures (Cruise and Campus) on the Multiverse. We all know by now what that entails anyway.

@GhostDog - We truly live in a society.

I guess they'll use their A-listers as much as they can and keep use the Campus actors for the in-person interactions. I do wonder though if Iron Man was still in the picture, would RDJ be up for this sort of stuff?
Fares
Fares - 7/1/2022, 11:46 AM
@Dannywest - Oh that's a whole other issue, and I don't think that the comics themselves are far from its reach unfortunately. You might notice a trend that comics have been putting more of the spotlight on character's that are soon-to-be appearing in major movies or series. And back in the day the X-Men felt like they were relegated in favor of the Inhumans before the Fox acquisition. Even DC did the same by bringing Peacemaker to the forefront of the Suicide Squad comics when James Gunn's DC work was being released.
And then you have The Avengers game, which was panned by some, and unfairly so I would say, for having characters that don't resemble the movies. The game has flaws, but that wasn't one of them. But then it devolved to releasing updates relating to MCU events, such as the recent Jane Foster character. Ironic. No need to mention all the MCU-fied mobile games and such.

Thankfully though, we still have the likes of Insomniac to hold the line on some sort of independent creativity within the Marvel sandbox.

@bkmeijer1 - Hahah yeah I guess. The multiverse has really been both a gift and curse in some cases. But as things stand now, it's not giving much reason to want it to remain in the picture. It served it's purpose, but maybe Feige can prove me wrong on that one.
Dannywest
Dannywest - 7/1/2022, 12:11 PM
@Fares - yeah, insomniac delves into mcufication a bit like the Peter redesing but it's not that much, as for the comics it becomes annoying if theres not a good story to back it up but so far the only synergy that worked for me was the shang chi one, thankfully the characters im fan of like Daredevil, Ghost Rider and iron fist are doing their own thing

@Fares - I think it will be wrapped up sooner than we think.

It's a great way to reintroduce characters from past movies, so that we can skip origin or certain parts of characters arc, but it's not really substantial in the long run without it getting confusing.

My guess is we'll already see Kang in the next Avengers movie, and after that it's gonna be reigned down a little again.

mrbioshock1984 - 7/1/2022, 4:38 PM
@Fares - Until they milked Spider-Man. We shouldn't have to buy a console to play the next game. At least with The Avengers game we are getting free DLC and characters.
Fares
Fares - 7/1/2022, 4:44 PM
@mrbioshock1984 - I'm not a fan of console exclusivity as much as the next guy, I don't even own a Playstation and I'm yet to play the game, but I have an appreciation for it for how good it looks and for the story. Thankfully though, I can get my hands on it once the PC port comes out. And I'm looking forward for what they do with Wolverine.
The Avengers game intrigues me, but I haven't given it a shot yet. I might download it to try out the story, but I have no interest for the live updates and online components personally.

@OmegaDaGrodd - really hope they're gonna reveal one on SDCC.

I don't care if we have to wait until 2025, it will create significantly amounts of hype. Especially if they reveal the villain (Kang I guess).
OmegaDaGrodd
OmegaDaGrodd - 7/1/2022, 11:58 AM
@bkmeijer1 - Yep, I don't mind waiting, nor do I mind not knowing what the story/threat is gonna be, but I want to know when I'm gonna see these goofballs try and work together again
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 7/1/2022, 2:45 PM
@OmegaDaGrodd - don't really mind the wait either, but I do hope we get to see more interactions like these.

Now that I think about it, I don't really want every interaction to be in the context of a big cross-over. The occassional appearance (like Rhodey in Age of Ultron or FATWS, Wong in Shang-Chi or Falcon in Ant-Man) is something I really enjoy seeing.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 7/1/2022, 9:55 AM
They really manage to find ways to keep bringing Ultron back it seems.

Anyway, seeing stuff like this is fun. Just not a cruise. I'll just be busy hanging out in whatever city the ship is docked, busy drinking on deck, or busy eating in the buffet.
