More possible story details about Avengers: Secret Wars have been revealed, this time pertaining to an Avengers: Endgame-style premise that will follow Earth's Mightiest Heroes visiting multiple realities!

Despite it still being a long way off from arriving in theaters, the excitement surrounding Avengers: Secret Wars is incredibly high. With rumours swirling about what we can expect from the final chapter in the Multiverse Saga, it continues to increase, and we have another wild claim to share with you today from scooper Heavy Spoilers.

It sounds like the movie will take some cues from Avengers: Endgame, albeit with time-travel swapped out for a journey across multiple, very familiar, realities.

"From what I’ve heard about [Avengers: Secret Wars], they basically [want to] do Endgame but with the Multiverse instead of time travel," the leaker claims. "Instead of going to key points in the MCU like they did with [Endgame] they’ll be travelling to key universes across the wider Marvel Universe."

This likely means we can expect to catch up with many familiar heroes and villains, and could explain recent reports that Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man will share the screen with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine!

While Avengers: Secret Wars' premise remains something of a mystery to us, we recently learned that the big bad is likely to be The Beyonder, though he'll be a Kang Variant in the MCU. Despite sharing its name with two different comic book events, we also don't know how much the movie will have in common with either of them.

However, if all these characters aren't pitted against each other at some point...well, many fans will be disappointed!

What are your thoughts on this latest Avengers: Secret Wars rumour? The movie is still dated for May 1, 2026, but with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty heading our way before this one, expect to only hear rumours about what's on the way for the foreseeable future.

Or maybe they are stuck on Battleworld......?

@HWestRE420 - I can see battleworld being a third act thing. Where the movie runtime is 3 hours. 2 hours of basically multiverse shenanigans. And 1 hour or more of very expensive battlefield. Take endgames finale, double it's length, and the amount of people involved.

@Vigor - That just sounds like what Endgame is, why not just do it the WHOLE FILM since that is literally what the first comic series is based on them being stuck in Battleworld.

@Vigor - that's my guess. Battleworld will be heavy on easter eggs from previous marvel films.

@HWestRE420 - that sounds so much better than a movie where the Avengers just go to each film universe and realise how uninteresting it is there.

@IKidYouNotMan - I have a feeling the only thing similar to Endgame, will be a time jump. I do sense that when they defeat Kang in Kang Dynasty, the incursions still happen but when it ends, they all see everything MASHED together, when they realize they ARE on Battleworld

Then the next film......FIVE YEARS LATER, and they are STILL stuck there trying to find a way back to fix it all, but now its the MCU's version of a post apocalyptic world, which I think is the what Secret Wars SHOULD be.

@HWestRE420 - Yeah, your idea is pretty similar to what I was thinking. If "A:KD" and "A:SW" are going to be more or less a part 1 and part 2 like "IW" and "EG" were, then I can see the third act of "KD" being a reality-hopping brain-melt where we get teases of the various Marvel movie (MCU, Fox, etc.) realities as the main characters have to traverse them in pursuit of the MacGuffin to stop Kang with the conclusion being the massive incursions of all these realities. Roll credits.

Then, like you said, "SW" picks up some time (maybe not as much as 5 years) after the dust has settled and the characters are in there own section of the now created massive "Battleworld" and the Beyonder shows up (did he make this all happen? Is he a Kang variant?) and manipulates the superheroes/villains into fighting with each other, etc., etc, etc. culminating in a final battle which makes "EG"'s finale like like a nice day at the park.

Not too derivative of "IW"/"EG" but upping the stakes. Yeah, I'm down for something like that.

@HWestRE420 - Exactly! That's how they should do it. Like it was in the comics. Not travelling to key universes across the wider Marvel Universe which is what they should've done in Multiverse of Madness.

Oh wow, the thing everyone speculated it would be the second the name was revealed. What a scoop.

It’s probably going to be “My reality is converging on your reality and only one can survive” type of storyline. And that pits the heroes against each other in trying to save their own reality.

Can we get the MCU back on track first

Phase 4 was mediocre (Black Widow, Moon Knight) to awful ( Thor Love and Thunder, She-Hulk)

You know, while there's of course the more cynical marketing element to it (I.E. This would be pretty obvious "dancing bear" gimmick to get people excited), I kinda like the idea how now when Sony is the only studio left making Marvel movies outside of the MCU and even they have to share their main characters with Marvel, this would kinda be a nice way to tell to all the fans of those pre-MCU Marvel movies "don't worry, those movies you love still count and aren't going to disappear from your DVD shelf". And I'm saying this as someone who thinks that the track record of pre-MCU Marvel movies wasn't too great.

They better have a gag where we see something really obscure like Dolph Lungren's Punisher, Roger Corman's Fantastic Four or Reb Brown' Captain America, and not just the obvious big budget movie characters.

OmegaBlack13 - 1/5/2023, 1:45 PM
@FinnishDude - Why make a 250 million dollar movie to tell the audience that though?
Vigor
Vigor - 1/5/2023, 2:23 PM
@OmegaBlack13 - it gets butts in seats
FinnishDude
FinnishDude - 1/5/2023, 4:16 PM
@OmegaBlack13 - Why make movies to tell the audience anything? Why tell stories at all?
OmegaBlack13
OmegaBlack13 - 1/7/2023, 10:36 PM
@FinnishDude - That’s not really a story imo though. It’s just selling corporate product back to people. I’m not saying that can’t ever be enjoyable, but “remember these old things?” just feels like it’s not living up to where things could go for me.

@Doomsday8888 - "We want the movies to be like the comics!"

Movies become as ridiculous as the comics

"Oh my God I hope they stop all that, it's ruining everything."

Don't mind me, I'm just here for the so-called-fans being their own monkey's paw.

lel, tell me about it! :P

I laugh so hard whenever people here start whining about the Multiverse, i'm like "what!?!?!? You guys haven't seen SHIT yet!"
OmegaBlack13
OmegaBlack13 - 1/5/2023, 1:55 PM
@Reeds2Much - See, to me “more like the comics” means meeting wild ass versions of characters like, nazi Spider-Man, hulked out Captain America, 1800s trapper Wolverine, Doctor Doom that’s always been a good guy. This is instead more like “hey remember when this guy played Daredevil? Here’s the X-Men from 20 years ago. Ah see it’s funny because Chris Evans was Johnny Storm before he was Captain America, you get it?” Just doesn’t seem to really take advantage of the multiverse imo.

helly berry as storm/thor, milles teller as the maker, eric bana as maestro, there are so many posibilities to exploit
OmegaBlack13
OmegaBlack13 - 1/5/2023, 1:56 PM
@darthmyke - See, this I can get behind. Teller as Maker in particular is something I’ve been wanting. But just bringing these actors back to literally play the versions we’ve already seen is boring to me.
mountainman

I really hope this is not a multiverse hopping movie. The incursions should destroy these other realities. Characters can be brought over into the “prime” reality but multiverse really needs to be over by the end of this movie.
Spoken
Spoken - 1/5/2023, 12:29 PM
@mountainman - Right? Like that literally makes no sense when we literally just sort of did that with Endgame of them jumping through different realities.

This should be somewhat of a survival movie in a way, it's BATTLEWORLD. Come on a set designer must be [frick]ing shitting bricks at the ideas and wonders they can come up with
mountainman
mountainman - 1/5/2023, 1:40 PM
@HWestRE420 - I don't know if they do the Battleworld thing. I expect the variants from other popular franchises to end up on our Earth and battle The Beyonder/Kang.

I just hope they start building it up better beforehand. I want to see more incursions and the impact of the multiverse being threatened.

I know they have a few more years and more projects, but it really feels like it's going to be abrubt. Even though Thanos had minimal screentime before Infinity War, we started seeing the stones themselves years ahead of time.

Loki seemed like it laid a decent foundation and Spiderman NWH had some interesting elements, but Dr Strange 2 was a huge miss in setting this up and many of the other announced projects don't seem to be doing it either.
