WARNING: Spoilers For Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania follow!
Despite the fact it pits its heroes against their greatest challenge yet, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania didn't feature a single casualty. While we're pleased the title characters will live to fight another day, it's a little hard to believe Kang the Conqueror didn't take any of them out, especially when he's destroyed entire timelines!
Despite a recently reshot ending, it was never the plan for Peyton Reed's threequel to end with a major death. Instead, Scott and Hope were going to be left trapped in the Quantum Realm.
According to The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, however, Marvel Studios does intend to kill either Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), or Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty!
Douglas has talked openly about wanting to bid farewell to Hank, though after her scene-stealing role in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, we'd like to think Janet's story isn't going to end quite yet. When it comes to Scott, the character's comic book counterpart was killed during Avengers Disassembled, with that being what prompted Cassie to become a hero.
Whether Marvel Studios would really want to say goodbye to Paul Rudd is another matter, and he will have been playing Ant-Man for a decade by the time the next Avengers movie is released. We'd be sad to see him go.
As always, this is just a rumour for now and is best taken with a pinch of salt.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is still being written for starters, so any decisions about major character deaths are likely to be far from set in stone. With the movie scheduled for a May 2, 2025 release, it's going to be a while before we find out either way!
Who do you think is most at risk of meeting their maker?
