AVENGERS: THE KANG DYNASTY Rumored To Feature Death Of Major ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA Character

Following the events of Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, a new rumour suggests that at least one key character from that ensemble is now destined to meet their maker in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty...

WARNING: Spoilers For Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania follow!

Despite the fact it pits its heroes against their greatest challenge yet, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania didn't feature a single casualty. While we're pleased the title characters will live to fight another day, it's a little hard to believe Kang the Conqueror didn't take any of them out, especially when he's destroyed entire timelines!

Despite a recently reshot ending, it was never the plan for Peyton Reed's threequel to end with a major death. Instead, Scott and Hope were going to be left trapped in the Quantum Realm.

According to The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, however, Marvel Studios does intend to kill either Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), or Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

Douglas has talked openly about wanting to bid farewell to Hank, though after her scene-stealing role in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, we'd like to think Janet's story isn't going to end quite yet. When it comes to Scott, the character's comic book counterpart was killed during Avengers Disassembled, with that being what prompted Cassie to become a hero.

Whether Marvel Studios would really want to say goodbye to Paul Rudd is another matter, and he will have been playing Ant-Man for a decade by the time the next Avengers movie is released. We'd be sad to see him go.

As always, this is just a rumour for now and is best taken with a pinch of salt.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is still being written for starters, so any decisions about major character deaths are likely to be far from set in stone. With the movie scheduled for a May 2, 2025 release, it's going to be a while before we find out either way!

Who do you think is most at risk of meeting their maker?

Sure, I don't believe it. They can just easily retire Hank and Janet and they can keep Scott around for forever, since Paul Rudd doesn't age

@bkmeijer1 - love Douglas but hes the obvious choice. His age and mobility limits what they can believably do with the character. Best to just let him go and stop people complaining about hank never really being in his prime as antman.

@ReverseFlasher - yeah he is. Just don't think he has to die to be written out of the MCU though

What's the point? they'll just bring another variant.
Anyway, movie is over two years away (and it might be delayed) there is probably no script yet.

I mean, if Kang gets out and isn't truly dead like we're all theorizing, he's going to be gunning real hard for Janet and Hope. Hank's arc in the first Ant-Man was letting go of trying to protect Hope and in the end gave her the wasp gear. In this movie Scott had a similar journey realizing Cassie was grown up (something that was hard for him having missed so much time) It will be Hank to tell him to give the wasp suit to Cassie going full circle, and the heart of the three ant-men movies was always Scott and Cassie, so Ant-Man and the Wasp moving forward being the two of them makes sense. Father diaghter fighting duo would be alot of fun, especially Paul Rudd in that role.

@SATW42 - I push slightly back simply cause they just gave us that with Thor 4 at the end

Yeah, they were rumored to die in Quantumania too... What are we banking on here?

Really, I was expecting them to off Hank Pym in Quantummania. So I would think it’ll be him or Janet being killed off in Kang Dynasty.

Thinking about it, kinda makes sense why they didn’t keep the original ending of Kang escaping. He immediately would’ve destroyed the MCU timeline and moved on to another one, and it be odd to have characters not act like that was going especially with how far out Kang Dynasty is

Lets see what these lame a** writers have cooked up for us with Kang Dynasty. 🤢

@Matchesz - Would have been nice to see MODOK make it out of the quantum realm at least, kind of a cop out not having him interact with the real world. You know, with the over 30 years of comic book history

@Matchesz - Expect more of the same. It's same writer.

@Matchesz - who knows maybe if we make enough noise theyll reintroduce us to one of his variants. As someone else said the progression to modok in the marvel game shows he can be taken seriously at least to a degree. That being said, I’m also fine with the comedic angle they took in quantumania, always seemed the easiest route to take for the MCU

I was disappointed by the fact that Scott and Hope got out of the QR as quickly as they did.
I was really hoping for them to be stuck down there until a future movie where you could have had them coming back in A:KD to save the day with their new super-evolved ants and QR residents to save the day.

I imagine Hank and Janet heroically sacrificing themselves during the Kang Dynasty to save Hope. Hank and Janet, the original Ant-Man and The Wasp together against the enemy for the last time.

Kang the Conquerer was zero menacing.
He got sucked into his time machine power core and will return as "The Beyonder" at the end of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Meanwhile Immortus, Rama-Tut and the Scarlett Centurion/Iron Lad will be the main villains of Phase 5, as will be countless Kangs - yawn.
I can't wait for Doctor Doom to kick his ass in Avengers: Secret Wars.

While i look forward to Guardians Vol. 3, i certainly have zero excitement for "The Marvels", i just don't care about the characters.
