In an exclusive interview with Fandango, Director Joe Russo has revealed some new information about his and his brother's approach to handling so many characters in such a large ensemble film. First and foremost, Joe once again attested to the fact that Infinity War is centered around Thanos and is very much a Thanos-driven film. When asked which characters were invested in most in the film in terms of screen time, he had this to say:

"Interestingly enough, I'll start out by saying Thanos, even though he's not a character that had a huge preexisting story in the Marvel universe. He was a threat but he was not developed in any way up to this point. Thanos has an incredible amount of screen time in this film, in a lot of ways I would say it's his movie. Our job when we make these films — and what we feel is important to us — is to surprise the audience. We wanted to tell a story that they weren't expecting, and the story is told from the point of view of a villain, which I think is also really unique and risky for a commercial film that will surprise the audience. I think this is a market where the audience really enjoys innovation and disruption, and we want to do something innovative in this space. So I think Thanos has an incredible amount of screen time."

Its great to see a set of directors giving so much focus to the villain, something that you don't see too often in films, let alone comic book films. It really shows how much they are trying to develop and flesh out Thanos, to provide the largest impact with the audiences and to make him a villain to truly remember. In addition to the mad Titan, Joe Russo had this to say about Pointbreak, which may excite some fans of our favorite Asgardian:

"I think you'll find that Thor has a really interesting arc in the film. He hasn't been at the forefront of other Avengers movies but he certainly has a very important role in this film. So I'll say, Thanos and Thor."

So there you have it folks! Thanos and Thor are, according to Joe, the two characters with the most screen time. It will be very interesting to see how the Russos handle Thor in this film, considering he is one of two Avengers that we have yet to see them direct on the big screen.  But if Joe's response is anything to go by, this means that Thor will continue to receive the spotlight after his rebirth of sorts in Thor: RagnarokDoes this make you anymore excited to see these characters in Infinity War? @HeavyMetal4Life - Make sure and take a look at the style guide (https://www.comicbookmovie.com/members/styleguide/). It'll help with a couple issues I'm seeing with your posts (mostly the size of the banners).

@NateBest - thanks Nate, I'll go ahead and fix the banner images. I was just pasting the link from online, but I'll edit the size and then upload the image directly. So I'll correct the two Russo articles. It'll just take me a few minutes to correct them.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Sometimes the banner or thumbnail doesn't change on your side because of your cache or something like that. Sometimes it works if you change it, leave it a bit, then clear your cache. I just change it, leave it a bit, and then check my phone to see if it actually changed (because the cache is different). Hope that's helpful if that's what the gif's in reference to.

And also,

I can't wait to see Thanos.That " I hope that they remember you" line is just chilling it's like Thanos knows iron man and the Avengers are no match for him but he still respects them for trying even if it's a futile attempt. I know a lot of people don't like that they seemed to have changed his motivation from a death worshiping warlord to someone who is willing to become a monster to save the universe but I'm kinda liking it and dare I say it gives him more depth.

@CurlyBill - This actually is how he is in the comics. People just can't seem to look past the romantic entanglement with Death to see the existentialism and true motivations at the heart of Thanos. Taking away Death allows that to be appreciated. I'm happy they did it.

@GhostSurfer -
I dont think you have read the comics.

Thanos never wanted to destroy half the universe - that was Death's goal which she tasked Thanos to do. Death brought him back to life and tasked him with killing half the universe.

By removing 'Death' as an entity and motivation - they have to do backflips to try and write a scenario where Thanos destroying half the universe is his goal instead. So now he's a warlord with some sort of focus on overpopulation that leads him to wipe out half of everything he comes across (Or in some cases entire planets if they disagree with his views)

Death appealed to the sense of Thanos' lonely nature - everyone he knew either hated or feared him except for Death. Death was the one entity that showed him compassion by resurrecting him - and his goal as such was sort of bitter sweet in that he just wanted to see Death again because Death was the only being that remotely interacted with him. The sad truth being that Death never cared for Thanos, she was merely using him. This fed into his madness.

It was less romantic originally and more just the idea of this bullied, exiled, deformed villain desperately trying to find someone who cares about him.
