According to The Playlist, there seems to be no truth to the rumor of Demi Lovato joining, or being considered for a role in Marvel Studios' "grand Jewel" The Avengers. Contacting her reps, they say:

"According to reps for the Disney star, when asked about the rumors about the project they’ve told us there’s nothing to them. Considering Lovato went into rehab last month, something about this supposed casting never made much sense."

Despite this debunk, I hear tell that Lovato did in fact try out for a main role for the star-studded ensemble. However being admitted to rehab early in November, her chances are now slim to none. And who the actress tried out for is unknown.

Anyhow, Joss Whedon is assembling The Avengers for an April start-date, slamming theaters May 4, 2012 in 3D.

I think it's fair to say that her not being in the movie is no great loss! :P Good stuff DCMF. It's interesting to wonder which role she might have auditioned for though...

no shit sherlock, it was obvious if any one actually read it properly would have realised it hasnt been that long since she was in rehab. but interesting i wonder who she tried out for though.and i find it funny when people pass judgement on young actor and actresses saying there bad, they cant act etc etc. same shit happened to dicaprio people thought he was going to be one hit wonder well look at him now. so people should learn to be open minded

That kinda sucks.I like Demi.Everybody complaining and sh*t about it,at least it wasn't the f***in gay Jonas Brothers.She is not that bad of an actress,she might have surprised us.When they cast Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man,what did you all think about that.Me being born in 1977,I used to watch a lot of movies with him back in the 80's,and he always did the funny goofy roles.I would have never dreamed of him as being an action star,but he pretty well surprised me.So maybe everybody should shut their damn faces before they pass judgment on someone.With her being in rehab for personal issues,it might have been a good thing for her to work with RDJ,he might have been able to give her advice and help her through her problems,she might have matured & grew up a little more on set.I also think its funny how everyone on here criticizes peoples acting when I know 90% of the people on this site couldn't act their way out of a wet paper bag.Oooh Yeah,I'm on fire tonight.HaHaHa!!!

Most of the people on this site are judging based upon her being associated with the Disney Channel, she has done other movies and serious roles on television shows and is actually good. If anyone had said that Shia LaBeof or Anne Hathaway, or maybe we can get some of the other 5h17 actors that have played roles on Disney or some the geniuses on this site who know how to act or cast.

So, most are hating on her because she acts for Disney. Does that mean you all are watching the Disney shows and judging your opinion off her Disney roles?

I remember watching Kurt Russell and Jodi Foster in Disney shows/films. Glad I didn't judge them like the regular Disney bashing that goes on here.
