Courtesy of the folks at Latino Review, at the annual CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Walt Disney's presentation featured new snippets on Marvel & Joss Whedon's crossover spectacle The Avengers. Among other things revealed, animatics & renderings, attendees got to see a rendition of Hawkeye's costume.

Disney/Marvel showed a featurette about the upcoming production of the film. In the featurette, there was an artist rendition of actor Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye character. The costume is not the purple costume from the comic books. But, it is a black sleeveless costume with a little bit of maroon. There is the Hawkeye symbol on the chest and he carries modern professional bow. And The Wrap adds that, while there no mask, theres lots of arrows.

Also included in the presentation, animatics, presumed to be of an action sequence, and also shots of actor Mark Ruffalo's head in makeup-type tests as the Incredible Hulk. Anyhow, with more to come, stay tuned.

Filming next month, The Avengers assemble in theaters May 4, 2012 in 3D!

Ultimate route. As expected, I'm fine with that.

Some red or purple tinted tactical shades would be nice too.

Sounds fine to me. It was what I was expecting, although I'm not completely sold on the shirtless thing. Depends on how ripped Renner gets. But yeah, with the Shield origin, this makes perfect sense.

Yeah the original look of Hawkeye form the Ultimates was cool. The crap that Joe Maduera turned it into was simply a Grifter Rip-off and waaaay too 616.

yeah, tactical goggles would be nice, like the ones that show in the air ads that have thermal imaging and other sweet features.

besides classic Hawkeye, my absolute favorite incarnation of the character is Joe Mad's version in Ultimates Vol. 3!

@thePuzzler

I think you're severely overestimating the popularity of smallville.

I'm fine with them using the Ultimate Hawkeye look. There was really no way to incorporate the classic costume and make it look good. However, I would have MUCH preferred the Ultimates 3 costume that tazmaniak and TorturedXGenius posted. That would have looked [frick]ing badass. The costume described sounds like Ultimates 1 and 2 Hawkeye, and that was boring as hell.

No BS it would so work on film, I can't stand it when people say crap like that! If Peter Parker can swing from buildings in bright red and blue then Hawkeye can shoot an f'n bow in purple and blue. Don't be such a lemming.

I don't think the costume is nearly as important as figuring out how to explain why a special ops government agent would rather use a bow and arrow than a gun.

Who cares? Hawkeye is a little B$@#% ripoff of Green Arrow. I wanna see Ollie on the big screen before this pansy.
SmokinIndo
SmokinIndo - 3/29/2011, 7:15 PM
@WellDrawn

With a bow and arrow you can attach all kinds of devices like explosives and gas canisters. Without the fancy gizmos, a bow and arrow is perfectly silent.

@schneider625

Awww... is somebody butthurt that their precious Ollie isn't making it to the big screen? Maybe if WB gave a crap about their properties instead of just the money you might see Green Awrrow make it somebody. But until then, Marvel will take all the fame and glory.

Wish we had a better picture then that of the comic book image.Maybe the hawkeye logo isnt as big as that,maybe just a smaler logo on the side of his chest or something.Kinda like robins 'R" or something.

Either way its good to see hawkeye in it.

Ehhh, I like the original costume, not sure about this. The picture in the article of Hawkeye does look generic. Hopefully they'll give him goggles or something.

@ Sortis: I agree. Some purple wouldn't have hurt anything.

Notice I didn't say a mother[frick]ing thing about tights. it doesn't have to be like the comics and of course I certainly don't want silly spandex or tights.

But just some kind of totally modern gear in black and purple would have been great. Body armor, weapons, shades etc all tricked out in the man's classic color of choice.

Well you can't win them all. :(

Classic purple hands down that black and red crap sucks. The only way you could tell that the guy in the black and red is hawk eye is by his bow that would be dumb. They should do what they did with captain Americas suit just take the original and modernize it for the love of god

What the [frick] is with you people and goggles? Is he flying a bi-plane or something? Is he a [frick]ing deep sea diver? Is he working with volatile chemicals or using heavy machinery for his carpentry? He doesn't need [frick]ing goggles for anything except looking like a dumbass.

That being said, I'm glad they went with the early Ultimate look. Badass.

Not that I'm a huge smallville fan, but at least they put GREEN on green arrow.

This is really really STUPID!

I cannot picture him in the decribed outfit standing next to Cap, Thor or Iron Man.

I'm also tired of people who complain about nitpicking.
The outfits of a Superhero are not like a business man's whole closet of suits. We have basically seen the SAME threads for decades and YES we want the film versions to be pretty damn close!!!
