Further Confirmation Of Loki's Rumored Mischievous Plans For The Avengers?

Recent reports may confirm not only that Loki will be using a powerful energy source in Marvel's The Avengers, but also his rumored mischievous usage of it. Check it out!

With final confirmation of the actor behind THOR's God of Mischief, Loki, Tom Hiddleston appearing in Marvel's The Avengers, an interview via HitFix, conducted during their set visit, may confirm past spoilerific rumors of a certain weapon, as well the Skrulls appearing in the superhero ensemble flick. The site reports:

At one point, we asked Tom, "So we had a chance to tour the weapons vault in Odin's chambers, and I couldn't help but wonder… if someone were to steal some of those weapons and head to Earth with them, that would take more than one hero to stop them, wouldn't it? Don't you think that might demand… oh, let's say… The Avengers?"

Hiddleston [smiling] replied, "Well, actually, that's not far off. What I've heard so far makes it sound like I'll have a great time in 'The Aven'--" and that's as far as he got before Kevin Feige leaned in close, and power-whispering something in Hiddleston's ear. The smile vanished and a suddenly-shaken Hiddleston continued. "You know, perhaps I'm not in 'The Avengers' after all."

With a spoiler warning, Latino Review reported earlier this year that Loki takes on the team by using the cosmic cube, firstly seen in Captain America: The First Avenger. And he uses the cube to get a hold of the Aliens (aka The Skrulls) to invade Earth and battle. What do you think?

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Tom Hiddleston & Stellan Skarsgård, the film releases May 4, 2012!

It seems likely that the Loki Cosmic Skrull rumor will be confirmed. Or at least some variation of it.
I have huge hopes for this film....probably too high. :P

Well if that's confirmed to be true then it's pretty much a done deal. It always was though, Loki was obviously going to be the villain.

Remember that Loki is the God of Mischief. He won't be personally involved in the fighting, just setting the stage for someone else. This will be an amazing movie.

@grayfox117 I agree. I think the only way to make that work would be to make it a 2 parter or something resembling lord of the rings. But whatever they choose, I have faith in marvel. Aside from the 2 actor changes they haven't failed me yet! :D

The guessing game with Loki's inclusion in The Avengers has gotten stale, they need to stop doing it. They've already confirmed Loki being in the movie with their Avengers press release.

if they do skrulls, they have to do the super skrull...skrulls by nature do not have any super powers, just shape shifting abilities...super skrulls do...aka origin from Fantastic Four, all powers put together...now that would be a great battle...just skrulls themselves would be lame...

I don't think the original Super Skrull will be in this simply because he had the powers of the FF and Fox still owns their movie rights, so it would probably raise legal issues. They might have the other ones like in secret invasion. But I think they will just simplify it so all Skrulls are sort of merged with super skrulls, in that normal Skrulls just get the powers of who they change into

They COULD use the Super Skrull. The powers of the Fantastic Four are not unique, and there is no need to mention them by name (though if he were the villain, a little "easter egg" inferring them would be cool). If need be, a new story could be concocted explaining the origin of the Super Skrull's powers.

I still remain convinced that the Skrulls should not be anything more than a "behind-the-scenes" threat in the first film. Build them up right, and build up towards a Kree-Skrull war in the third film, by which time audiences will know all the players well enough that the movie can jump right into doing the war without having to waste time on backstory.
