After hitting the rumor mill earlier this year, Marvel Studios has officially announced their latest Disney+ series, Hawkeye, which will see Jeremy Renner reprise his fan-favorite role and mentor a young new hero: Kate Bishop.

With the series not expected to debut until Fall 2021, neither Kevin Feige nor Jeremy Renner were particularly forthcoming with plot details, but Renner did express his immense enthusiasm about getting a chance to explore a new side of Clint Barton that fans haven't necessarily seen before, "What I get to do in the show ultimately is shepherd an amazing character, ultimately a better version of me and the sentiment of that is the fiber of what Hawkeye is, at least what I think Hawkeye is — a superhero without superpowers and I get to teach someone else to be a superhero without super powers.

Feige also teased the series would potentially explore bits of Clint Barton's post-Infinity War life as Ronin, which could result in some really killer action scenes.

HAWKEYE

Jeremy Renner came on stage and revealed the previously undisclosed title of the Hawkeye Disney+ original series. He joined Kevin Feige to give exciting news about “Hawkeye,” including details about Kate Bishop, a character well-known in Marvel comics, who will be an integral part of the series.

“Hawkeye” launches on Disney+ in the fall of 2021.

If there's no country music sequences, then all of this would have been for nothing

I, a Hawkeye stan, have waited years and years and years for this. Matt Fraction's run is my single most favorite comic series of all time. It was the gateway drug to the rest of Clint's series, every team he was on, every solo run he had, I consumed it all. I'm so so excited, and really hope they lean into the aesthetic of the book. also! Pizza dog!

@DoubleD - It is in fact true! I'm glad to hear it. James Cameron is not.

People actually thought his daughter was Kate Bishop in the second Endgame trailer.

I'm skimming snippets as I can find them about the presentation. Earlier I saw the Thor, Love and Thunder thing with Portman announced to return. But apparently she's getting Mjolnir?!

I know a lot of you were opposed to this, but I never doubted. This is a big day for me.

@Spock0Clock - Yeah, Natalie Portman's amazing. Her returning as Female Thor was the most exciting news out of the Marvel panel.

@tmp3 - I felt so bad for her for what seemed like a pretty terrible experience with Dark World (none of the cast seemed all that happy about it, but Portman seemed like she was going out on a down note).

Still a shame about the Warriors Three, but you can't win them all.

@Spock0Clock - Yeah, she really wanted Jenkins' take on the material and after seeing Thor 2... yeah, I can see why. Christopher Eccleston hated working on that film too, and after how incredible he was in The Leftovers what he was given in TDW looks even worse.

Using the Fraction font for the logo is a big hint.

They aren't [frick]ing around in the slightest
