In the Marvel comics, Ultron is pretty much a robot version of Superman where powers and abilities are concerned -- and then some! Super strength, speed, flight, intellect..various sonic death rays! You name it, he's got it. But it seems Joss Whedon is planning to make a few changes in that regard for the big screen incarnation of the character.
“I knew right away what I wanted to do with him,” Whedon tells Entertainment Weekly.
“He’s always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he’s got a bee in his bonnet. He’s not a happy guy, which means he’s an interesting guy. He’s got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we’ll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone [a new character, Scarlet Witch] who’s a witch.” The director adds that he intends to
“to ground [the character] while still evoking that guy.” And it seems that it's Ultron's intense rage that makes him such a big fan.
“As a character I love [Ultron], because he’s so pissed off.” So it won't be just Ultron's Hank Pym shaped origins that will be tinkered with! What do you guys think of this?
