MTV got to sit down with Joe Quesada recently and pose the tough questions about the chance of an Avengers film. Superherohype.com also jumped on board the story, and both agencies announced to the horror of the world that Quesada believed that it would be “pretty astronomical” if an Avengers movie got made.

Thankfully, for all of us, they got it wrong in the interpretation, and quickly corrected their mistakes.

What Quesada was actually referring to, was the chance of a Marvel team up movie; ie, Spider-man and Wolverine.

That the Avengers movie is still on the Marvel production slate is a pretty good bet that an Avengers movie is in the works; even if it’s pre-production. Quesada also gave us his views on at least a small part of the preferred team makeup.

“It would be Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man,” Quesada stated. “You can have anyone outside of that, but if you had those three characters, you have a tremendous Avengers movie. Those three characters are sort of the Holy Trinity here at Marvel.”
