Potential Scouted-Filming Spots For The Avengers In Cleveland Revealed!

Additional scouted-filming locations for Marvel's highly-anticipated The Avengers move have been revealed, consisting of well-known spots in Cleveland, Ohio. Check it out!

Commencing principal photography in a few weeks, primarily in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Marvel & Joss Whedon's crossover spectacle The Avengers is shaping up greatly according to plan. And while it's known a great portion of filming will occur in Cleveland, Ohio, the productive On Location Vacations folks have been tipped scouted locations in the city.

The Cleveland Museum (This was all the information we were provided and we’re trying to confirm which museum, it could be The Cleveland Museum of Art or The Cleveland Museum of Natural History.) Cleveland Airport, and the [Glenn] NASA Research Center.

While I've heard Plum Brook Station was being considered, in which the NASA center is inside the facility, these locations may be accurate. Although, since they're only "scouted", neither should be considered final. And also it was previously reported the 'Great Lakes Science Center' was being considered.

Anyhow, while rehearsals supposedly occurred yesterday, look for The Avengers assembling on the big screen May 6, next year in 3D!

@SuspenseSmith- they are filming in Cleveland because Ohio has a new bill on the books that gives HUGE tax credits for film productions set in the state. I suspect this won't be the last.

@WellDrawn- nobody from Cleveland calls it C-Town. Sounds like you may be from the Pitts.

@SuspenseSmith It's not even the first Marvel movie set in Cleveland, that would be Howard the Duck.

@ darkmatter

on the quinjet,i think he'll have to introduce a form of quinjet as only two of the group can fly & one can jump pretty far.

unless he makes the threat local, then maybe they could walk to the scene of the crime.

the avengers must also feature.

-the avengers mansion
-jarvis
-quinjet
-heli-carrier
-flying shield cars(maybe save for shield movie)
-life model decoys(maybe save for shield movie)

@nikgrid: To Avenge has special meaning... It denotes that you didn't throw the first punch, but that you intend to throw the last one. So it's uniquely different from a pre-emptive action where you move first against anyone you deem a threat, whether they've actually done anything wrong yet or not, and yet still beyond a purely defensive option that only protects and doesn't take the offensive.

screw the Quinjet the Avengers better make clear that there not working FOR SHIELD, don't mind them working together but SHIELD shouldn't have control over them, I want to see them becoming a independent team. If that doesn't happen by the end of the movie then they should just rename the movie and call it the Ultimates. I want to see the Avengers and SHIELD working reluctantly in future movies.

The first adventure features Loki, who seeks revenge against his adopted brother Thor. Using an illusion, Loki tricks the Hulk into destroying a railroad track, after that he then diverts a radio call by Rick Jones for help to Thor, whom Loki hopes will battle the Hulk. Unknown to Loki, the radio call is also answered by Ant-Man, the Wasp and Iron Man. After an initial misunderstanding, the heroes unite and defeat Loki. Ant-Man states the five work well together and suggests they form a combined team — with the Wasp naming the group "the Avengers" because it sounded "dramatic".

@Neos: NYC is notorious as a nightmare shooting location for this kind of film. You can shoot comedies and such there, but action films that require the shutting down of streets and such end up costing a fortune and earning the wrath of the citygoers.

@kalel38: It might not follow the same release strategy as the other Marvel films, since the distribution is switching over to Disney from Paramount starting with The Avengers. All of the marketing and release dates will be determined by a different team as a result.

If Fox has the rights to F4 and Silver Surfer then do they have the ownership of the Skrulls & Kree since that's where they were introduced in comics?

I know we all want certain villains, but I'm confused who has what rights. If Fox doesn't have the rights then I hope they don't make SS and Marvel can get the rights soon, but I bet it's several years off.

As far as Cleveland is concerned I doubt it will be Cleveland in the film. They filmed parts of Spider-man 3 in Cleveland to fill in as NY. Just like they're using LA for NY in the Spidey reboot. I think Cleveland is just giving some huge tax breaks to the production and for whatever they have planned they likely don't need too many recognizable buildings.

teabag I watched IM2 last night and didn't even realize the Jet reference. Too busy shaking my head at Justin Hammer trying to seal the deal with Starks sloppy seconds.

Maybe they should go with soemthing else. The Jet is going to smell like X-MEN. Half the Avengers can fly anyway.

it's a shame they have to film in cleveland the movie should be filmed in NYC unfortunately NYC charges too much to film, in comic book lore avengers mansion is on fifth avenue...
