Lindsay Lohan Continues Her Campaign To Play BATGIRL; Fuels Speculation With New Social Media Image

It seems Lindsay Lohan is serious about her campaign to star as Barbara Gordon in Joss Whedon's Batgirl movie, as a new social media post has led to speculation that she might actually be in with a shot...

Last week, Mean Girls actress Lindsay Lohan took to Twitter to ask her followers if they think she should play Batgirl, and tagged director Joss Whedon while she was at it. Her post gained quite a bit of traction, and this clearly didn't go unnoticed by the 31-year-old former child star.

Lohan has now shared the below image of herself alongside Barbara Gordon, and there's no denying that she looks the part here.

This has led to speculation that Lohan may have actually landed the role or at least met with someone at WB about it, but it's far more likley that she's simply continuing the campaign to get people talking. And hey, it works, so why not!

We haven't heard much about this project since it was first announced a few months ago, but as far as we know, Whedon is still on board and the movie is still on Warner Bros.' slate. Now that Walter Hamada has taken over as the new President of DC-based Film production, it remains to be seen if Batgirl will be made a priority or not.

What do you guys think? Does Lohan's campaign have any chance of yielding a result? Do you think she'd make for a good Barbara Gordon? Sound off below.

@RocknRolla - Hey I’m not a fan of the DCEU but that doesn’t mean I want her to play Batgirl.

‘It works, so why not?’

When has someone actually landed a role they’ve campaigned for?

I think if anything this just takes her out of the running, which is fine by me. Plenty of better actresses for the part

@DetectiveCinema - the closest was childish gambino getting a role in homecoming, but in that case, I believe it was just a bunch of fan casts, not him actually campaigning

@DetectiveCinema - stupid autocorrect, I would argue that Ryan Reynolds won the campaign for Deadpool. And continues to win in all the right ways...😁

@Brightestdaze - He campaigned for a solo deadpool movie after he was cast as Deadpool in Origins. Technically he didn't win the role if he already had it.
