When MTV News caught up with Adrien Brody at SXSW, Academy Award winning actor confirmed earlier rumors that he was in consideration for the part of the Joker. Brody not only met with The Dark Knight's director, but was excited for a chance to play the part.

"I met Chris on that," he said regarding the role that eventually went to Heath Ledger. "Heath was tremendous in that, but yeah, I would've loved to have done that. It was an amazing role. Amazing."

When asked if any other comic book character roles have piqued his interest, Brody said, "It's not one specific thing that attracts me, it's.. bringing truth to something that had this impact on you in your youth, and basically growing up and have that inside of you — stored away with all the memories you have of it,"

Christopher Nolan has yet to reveal whether he will include the Joker in his next Batman installment. Since he has confirmed that it will be his last time directing the Caped Crusader, many fans hope he will give another actor the chance to step into the performance that won critical acclaim for Heath Ledger.

What do you think, would Adrien Brody bring a unique and welcome take to the Joker?
