Bale Says More About His Embarassing Blowout

he may have overreacted but at least it shows how passionate he is about wat he does. i can definitely respect him for that.

Ok I liked him in American Psycho, gruesome sh!*, but he is really starting to remind me of another douche that went on a moronic moment of instability and is now just a permanent douche..Tom Cruise ring a bell, my hope is that Bale doesn't go that route b/c I am actually looking forwrd to T4, it is looking good.

I like Bale, and I really could care less about his juvenile tirades. We all get them every now and then.

But comments like this:
"I'm not hiding that. I went overboard."

Followed by:
"But there is an essential trust and it's not a tacit one, it's a verbal one, a spoken one, which is every sound guy says 'We are not only not recording, we are not even listening.'"

If you are going to own up, freaking own up and don't go blaming some poor sound guys, or changing the subject to "trust."

On top of that he says, "I'm not making any excuses." but then wants to "warn" us listening to the clip might "ruin" his movies for us...

Indeed, I watch (and enjoy) his movies. But that just means he's already in my sights. Stuff like this, gives a good reason to pull the trigger.

Mmmm. He really should have made more of a joke of the whole thing. In this it seems like hes saying "well yeah im sorry, but [frick] those assholes that mock me!". If he had of laughed it off everyone else would have. I dont care i still like him as an actor, but im going to log on to youtube now and re listen to all the Bale out remixes..just for you Chrissy!

Bale is a good actor and he really does go "balls to the wall" for the roles he chooses. So tirade or not, he's still golden in my books.

I can sort of see where he's going with bringing up the issue of the sound guys. Instead of containing this argument within the set, they made a conscious choice to air the production's dirty laundry to the public. What they failed in doing, was lacking the foresight in doing such a thing. Not only are you tarnishing the image of a popular actor but you're also tarnishing the director's working image as well. They not only showed Bale flipping his lid but also the lack of set control and leadership the director failed to exercise on set. That in turn hurts his chances of proving the needed confidence to film producers and studios that he can handle large scale projects, thus screwing his chances for future jobs.

The sound crew should have had a bit more tact if you think about it. Imagine the amount of things they've been privy to on sets throughout the years while actors and actresses discussed personal things within earshot of a microphone. Without that trust, as Bale was explaining, every talent that moves through a set would be on guard and by being so ruins any chance for anyone to really be themselves and be creative or vocal.

It was amusing, yes, but c'mon everyone flips out at one point. It's not that big of a deal, the only difference between us and Bale is that when we explode we have the luxury of not being recorded. We're allowed the opportunity to deal with it personally and within the confines of the situation. Basically what Bale is saying is that yeah, he was a cock but he doesn't really get why the sound crew would record it and leak it. It was unnecessary.

Arnie has at least as many good movies and just like Bale, anyone with the right look could have done them. Bale is a passable actor. Nothing more.
In fairness, I did not see American Psycho, which many people seem to be saying is his "moment". Sorry.
He does not act that I have seen. Unless the acting part is where he contains the rage. Otherwise the differance between drug controled Bale and non-drug controlled Bale in Equilibrium was only who he was shooting at IMO. I believe I saw everything else on your list. I own both Batman Begins and TDK and watch them allot. TDK without Heath Ledger was a decent film. I would have still liked it. With Ledger, IMO pretty much a classic. There you go. Heath Ledger brought somnething to the role. Heath Ledger was an Oscar winner because of it. Christian Bale? He did not screw up.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think he hurt the movies he was in, I just don't think he brings anything. Not like a Harrison Ford or Mel Gibson (I know he's been a nutjob lately, but the guy has actually had some very solid movies and I am comparing acting not crazyness atm), Brad Pitt and Hugh Jackman all solid action stars that can actually act. I started to compare Vin Diesel to Bale, but it's not fair. I have seen Diesel act well at times. He just works in some God awful scripts. Can we really blame Diesel for Riddick? His acting in it was fine, it's just a stupid script. I would argue that Diesel made Pitch Black a good movie. Without him, it was a B movie that nobody would ever watch. SOrta like Reign of Fire. Bale never looks comfortable in his own skin. He's always having to fight to stay in character, which I think both explains his blowup and why I say he's meh...
Anyway, not like I dislike that sort of movie. I am a guy. Violence is like one of the food groups IMO. Gotta get it in some amount each day or you die alittle inside. Bale works in those roles, so unless he implodes he's going to be in movies I watch. But others can and will fill those roles and the movies won't suffer.

Free country man. I accept that you value the product more than the consequences. For me, nuthing is seperated. The system is not closed. Like when Charles Barkley said "I am not a role model". Fair enough, but don't complain if people who want their kids to idolize someone worth a damn tune your ass out. Our world is what we demand it to be. Have you ever actually seen Bale's movies? He's done very few action films throughout his career. The movies that made him successful were because he delivered great performances in them.

I think people should mind their own [frick]ing business honestly. I absolutely cannot stand it when people bitch and moan about actors. So Tom Cruise had a bit of a midlife crisis and jumped on Oprah's couch and preached about scientology... If you don't wanna hear about it... stop buying these gossip rags to find out what they're all doing in their spare time. So Christian Bale blew up and made an ass of himself, god forbid you do anything wrong in your life. Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Stop thinking of yourselves as so damned high and mighty and that you're better than everyone else. The guy is a DAMN fine actor and makes great movies, so if you so choose to not watch his movies because you think he's a "d bag" than keep it to your [frick]ing self because nobody else gives a shit what you think. I personally will be there for the midnight showing of Terminator because I think it looks awesome, I don't give a shit if Bale blew up at every single person on the entire set. I pay my 5 bucks to be entertained and that's exactly what I'm gonna do.
