Heather Ledger’s father blames his son for his death.

Racing car driver Kim Ledger believes the late ‘The Dark Knight' star and Oscar winner – who died of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in January 2008, aged just 28 – is accountable for his own passing because he was not carefully monitoring his medication.

He said: “We’re all responsible for what goes into us and I blame Heath for not being responsible.”

At the time of his death, it is believed the actor was mixing medication prescribed to him by three different doctors.

Heath’s father also admitted the star’s family – including the late actor’s mother Sally, sister Kate and half-sister Olivia - had been affected by the news Michael Jackson had died from a suspected cardiac arrest possibly caused by an accidental prescription drug overdose.

Kim told Australia’s Women’s Day magazine: “On the day that Michael died I spoke to my daughters and former wife Sally and we all had such a down day.”

Kim has offered his condolences to the late pop star’s family - whose life was celebrated at a star-studded memorial service yesterday - and admits he can empathise with what they are going through.

He said: "Heath and Michael were both very private and as the closest people to them, you want to protect that. We found ourselves asking each other, ‘Would Heath have done it this way?’ If not, then we weren’t going to either.

"It’s not for me to advise the Jackson family how to get through this, but what I will say is the saddest times are now, one-and-a-half years later. The media interest has died down, so I’m no longer surrounded by Heath and all I want to do is pick up the phone, but I can’t."

Heath is survived by his young daughter, Matilda Rose – now aged three – with his former girlfriend, actress Michelle Williams.

Irresponsible doctors are killing our precious artists. They need to be prosecuted.

RIP HL and MJ.

Thousands of innocent/anonymous people die every day to doctors that only care about $$$. They take advantage of their patients lack of judgement/information when in such states.

Yes, there is a responsibility owed to the patient as the hypocrathic oath requires that doctors not only aim to do no harm, but also do their best to protect the health & lives of others. In Heath's situation, my understanding is that he was not using the meds in compliance with the various doctors' directions (and each doctor was unaware that he was seeing the other and using their prescribed meds). Complicity must fall on his (Heath's) shoulders in this particular situation.

yes there are doctors out there that are screwing peoples' lives up by prescribing incorrectly/unnecessarily, but ultimately, each adult individual of sound mind, is ultimately responsible for what goes into their body. His dad is right.

how bout chocolat chip pancakes?

we are all adults and are responsible for ourselves. its only whiny babies who blame other people for thier problems. heath took the drugs, as did michael. there was no deception on the part of the doctors or anyone else. blaming them is like blaiming the casino for gamblers, the bar tender for drunks, and the gun maker for the shooting. take responsibility for yourselfs, dont rely on or blame others, and you'll be fine. and if not, its your fault.

In Heath´s case, he was having a great time in his career, he was about to be nominated for an Oscar, etc.

In MJ´s case, it was 100% different. Both his personal and professional lives were a chaos. and his finances too.
And they ENDED UP THE SAME SITUATION, what i mean is that there must be a third party involved. But yeah, you must be responsible for what you take, not your daddy c´mon!

I take a very hard line on matters such as these.

I have always known that no one else sees it that way. That's ok.

Life is hard enough already without adding more negative things.

Using chemical agents to experience some transient feeling is negative for three reasons.
1. It's almost always harmful to your body
2. It doesn't last.
3. It creates the false belief that you NEED it for some reason.
Behaviors of that kind have a subtle but unmistakable connotation to them. That is that in some sense you are admitting that just you alone, your plain old natural unaltered self just isn't good enough. And no matter who you are that is always a huge lie.

The more a a person abstains from vices, the more free they are. That's how I look at it.

I think that when we hear about Ledger and Jackson and Anna Nicole, and all the others it sort of makes a strong illustration of that.

This has as much relevance to comics as much as the Farrah Fawcett article. This is pointless, I don't care what Heath's dad thinks about MJ death let alone his own son's. I swear just because he was in one damn comic book movie doesn't mean him and the rest of his family equal comic book news. It's just news, and sometimes it's not even that. God damn I'm bitter today.

And if you're wondering why I'm reading and commenting on it is just because I'm damn bored and feeling like a good rant will make the day a little better. And it is. Thank you.

Gotham to Reveal Joe Shuster's Secret
Source: Variety July 14, 2009

Days after the heirs of Superman co-creator Jerome Siegel were rebuffed in a lawsuit against Warner Bros., co-creator Joe Shuster is at the center of a film deal, reports Variety.

The Gotham Group has optioned screen rights to "Secret Identity: The Fetish Art of Superman's Co-Creator Joe Shuster," a book by Craig Yoe published earlier this year by Abrams ComicArts.

Gotham Group CEO Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Lee Stollman and Julie Kane-Ritsch will produce, and they are out to writers.

The book pegs Shuster as the secret artist behind "The Nights of Horror," a 16-volume series of mob-financed underground comics depicting scenes that range from S&M to brutal torture.

The comics were sold covertly under the counters of Times Square bookshops -- until they sparked a dragnet and crackdown on comics, several sensational trials and a Supreme Court censorship case in 1954.

That second video scared my wife. She just said "so done with that" and then left the room.

This is serious psychological illness. I tried to laugh at it, but I just can't. This person is in real trouble here.
