Michael Fassbender Should Be The New Batman

Why I think Michael Fassbender should play the next Batman.

The more I think about it, I don't think we can afford an up and comer/unknown actor to take the mantle that Bale left. Casting Batman is too important' it is why I think the best choice would be Michael Fassbender, who is a great actor with tons of range/gravitas, screen presence and would do a bang up job. He is a good looking guy, very charismatic so he could play the playboy billionaire with ease but as shown with magneto he can be a straight up convincing bad ass and Fassbender has that tough mature look and would look great under the cowl and he is only 6 years older than cavill at just 36.

Fassbender has that respectable resume with inglorious basters, hunger, shame,Prometheus, jane eyre,x men first class, etc. that would get the respect of the fan base and the general audience all very excited that some unknown just would not have

I never thought of Michael Fassbender before. He should be the next batman.

I like Mike. Were he a few years younger, he would be perfect. But I like him, slightly behind my pick of Liam McIntyre.

He won't be. Think outside the box for a change.

My Choices are

DYLAN BRUCE (Orphan Black)

OR

David Giuntoli (Grimm)

He looks like a Martian Man-hunter to me. That is if they were to go with a white guy. If they make a JL: Dark I think he could pull off a John Constantine, a Jason Blood/Etrigan, or even a Jim Corrigan/The Spectre. I even fan-casted him as Green Arrow once (see picture below) but I don't see him as Batman.

I feel like fan castings always include the same people. And most of those people already play another comicbook movie character.

Fassbender just doesn't seem like Batman to me. He would be better suited for James Bond or maybe one of batman's villains.

Dmon Just convinced me that Michael Fassbender is perfect for Green Arrow.

I can't really think of him as Batman. Looks too European.

Hell yes!
Fassbender would be brilliant as Bruce and Batman,he is the only one I see replacing Christian Bale and doing justice to the character after him.
Can´t see no one else better.
My vote goes to Fassbender despite he´s Magneto(remember of Ryan Reynolds and James Marsden, both played Marvel and DC characters).
I think WB should consider Fassy and go after him.
It costs nothing to try.

Manganiello is too tall.
Superman should be taller.
No to Joe,sorry!

They can make them the same height plus since they're putting Batman in the Superman sequel which is basically saying no origin story then he'll be the perfect slightly older and a bit experienced Batman.

I have yet to see a better pick than Tyler Hoechlin. He has the perfect look for both Bruce and Batman. He'll be 27 by the time they start filming - just a year younger than Cavill was when they started filming MOS.

Hoechlin can grow with the role and stick around for a very long time without looking too old.

Fassbender is already the young Magneto. Jumping ships is never a good thing. 9 times out of 10, the movie fails.

Ahem..

People that could play Batman; a. due to their looks, and b. due to their acting ability(Playing the brooding vigilante annd the charming playboy):

Ryan Gosling(Drive)
Liam McIntyre(Spartacus)
Sam Worthington(COTT)
Michael Fassbender(X-Men: First Class)
Karl Urban(Dredd)
Jon Hamm(Mad Men)
Michael C. Hall(Dexter)
Liev Schreiber(Ray Donovan)

I know that all of them could pull off the character, and I know most of them would study the character, as opposed to doing their own variation of it. All of them are good actors. All of them(aside from Liam) have lots of experience.

Now, I like the idea of Michael, but his schedule is going to be rough. He is apart of the X-Men franchise, The Assassin's Creed franchise, and is one of the frontrunners for Bond. Love to see him portray Batman though.

you say the fan base would be excited, even though he is the most hated cast pic for Batman by fans?
BIGDane42
BIGDane42 - 7/26/2013, 8:03 PM
@MrCBM56 Who would you like to see play Bats, I hope it's not one of the many fanboy favorite(for God knows what reason), mediocre acting shit choices?? Maybe Sam Witwer(BTW, his face does not look like a vampire, it looks like a bitch with too many facial surgeries!), Luke Evans, Joe Manganiello, Scott Adkins, Alex O'Loughlin, Wes Bentley, or maybe David Boreanaz is still the best?

Why the [frick] are any of these choices! Some of them can't act, some don't have the look AT ALL, some are a mixture of both!!! I mean what the hell!! Lets just cast Nick Cage at it and call it a day!

And if by "out of the box" you meant no name, then I say [frick] that. Batman has to have a strong actor, and the mass audience are going to accept someone they know more then someone they don't. Especially since the last Batman exited the stage last year! Shoot for the stars. We need a strong actor that can play this bad ass the way we all want, and the way the audience deserves!

@RedHood13

Really, I didn't know you were in charge of that poll. I personally did not get a chance to vote. Is that something you made up, and put on a colorful graph like Ross Perot?

I think Michael is a fine choice, just not a likely one!

It would really be a great idea. I actually FANCASTED him a while ago before this but he is committed to X-Men so he won't go to 2 gigs like that. I mean it is possible. J.J. Abrams is doing STAR WARS AND STAR TREK.

Also another concern I heard was is he could do physical roles or not and that is a good question. He could but we haven't really seen him do any. But you never know.

But yeah he DEFINITELY is my first choice..
BIGDane42
BIGDane42 - 7/27/2013, 7:36 AM
Well I mean Zoe Saldana is going to be doing the next Star Trek movie, the next two Avatars, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Jennifer Lawrence is in both The Hunger Games, and The X-Men franchise. I mean, It isn't so much that they won't commit because of the other films, it's if they want to. If Michael wanted to play Batman, he would play him. He would find a way.

I also think that he would train for the part too. I mean he is about to play Desmond Miles in Assassins Creed, and 300 was quite a physically demanding role. Just saying..

I totally agree,

He has the ideal look, talent, and voice.

JasonGrayson77 - 7/27/2013, 8:20 AM
In my opinion, Fassbender would be too old for bats in the long run. By the tim they put out a JL film, he'll already be about 40, then when they try to spin it off with a solo film he'll be somewhere along his early forties. He's a great actor and I loved him in first class, but I think we should look to a slightly younger actor.

I always saw him as Batman, his Magneto convinced me.

@JasonGrayson77

Why is age so important?? If we kept Christian, he would be 42 for Batman/Superman, and close to 45 for JLA. I see Batman working out very well if he's older than the majority of the cast(excluding Manhunter and possibly Aquaman). It makes sense too. Age equals experience. It backs up his character's story.

Also, if you have good genetics, like most the actors that are suggested have, than age is irrelevant. If you don't think thats possible then why has it worked for Avengers, and X-Men?? Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, and especially RDJ have done just fine. This is not a high school soap opera, this is a superhero movie. Age should not matter, besides Henry Cavill confirmed that Superman was 33 in Man of Steel, so we should not cast around the age of 29.
JasonGrayson77
JasonGrayson77 - 7/27/2013, 4:53 PM
@BIGDane42
Yeah, if we kept Christian, he would be 45 by JL, but we didn't. His story is over. I'm not saying I know what WB are going to do, but why have another old batman when you just ended with one. Why not reboot with batman in like year 2 so we could get the Dick Grayson/Tony Zucco storyline or the Red Hood story line. I guess it could make sense later in his career, but in my opinion Bats should get robin in year two or three.
Kevwebsz
Kevwebsz - 7/27/2013, 7:50 PM
Am I the only one who realizes RDJ is gonna be 50 years old for Avengers 2 and about 52 or 53 for Avengers 3?
P862010
P862010 - 7/28/2013, 2:49 AM
dont see how age is so important hugh jackman is 44 and the wolverine just came out and he is currently shooting dofp and still kicking ass

people act like an older actor is gonna die on set because he is 40 lol fassbender is only 6 years older than henry lol
BIGDane42
BIGDane42 - 7/28/2013, 7:59 AM
I know P862010!! It's like actors don't ever play younger, or older(like Cavill who is 33 in MOS)roles either! Or the timeline for the movies are linear with our time. It might be months between films, or possibly days in their time. As long as they can look the part, they should be fine.

I mean I get what JasonGrayson77 is saying too, but I feel like that is forcing it to be almost like another origin film when they get around to the reboot. I want them not to get into all that and do what the new 52, and The Arkham games have done, and just go on with it.

Sooo how does that matter??.. They are completely different characters, and not even a part of the same universe. Plus, it's not like working on multiple comic book movies has been a bad thing for actors... Well as long as your Chris Evans, and not Ryan Reynolds lol!

I've been rooting for this guy the more movies I watched him in like Shame, First Class, 300. This guy definitely pull off the playboy Bruce Wayne and definitely looks the part too. He also has the capacity of playing the dark, intense of Batman has he has displayed in First Class and Shame. This can definitely do Action. Just watch 300!
