Riddle Me This? Could The Ultimate Puzzler Be The Answer For The Batman Finale

Riddle Me This? Could The Ultimate Puzzler Be The Answer For The Batman Finale

It's no secret that the Riddler is first name that pops into most fan boys heads when thinking about the next villain in Nolan's last adaptation of the Caped Crusader, but there are a lot of things that make the Riddler a good candidate for the job besides the fact that he is realistic.

Now if there is anyone on the planet who has yet to see the latest Batman live action epic I invite you to leave the rock you have been living under and watch it at least ten times!!! Also, for those of us who are normal functioning human beings who have seen this movie I think we can all agree that Nolan left us hanging.

No new bat cave, no new Wayne Manor, Rachel dies, the Joker destroyed the bat-pod, so its painfully obvious that Nolan owes us a ending, but with so many loose ends how could the Riddler fit into the story and give us a little closure?

Well I'm glad you asked I made a short list of problems I feel that only the Riddler can solve

1. Bad influence: Now one thing about the Riddler that many forget (Jim Carrey, Joel Schumacher) is that the Riddler is arrogant, he believes that all should bow down to him and that he is the smartest man alive. With Gotham needing a new White Knight I can imagine Mr. Nygma stepping in to be the new face of Gotham, probably not the new D.A. but a powerful figure head (Bruce Wayne's rival).

2. Anything you can do I can do better: Imagine you live in Gotham and your beloved hero was killed by a man in a bat costume, the media craze would be endless. Now, just imagine a man who wants to prove that he is better than this Batman, that he is the greatest threat to Gotham, not some guy in black tights. Enter the Riddler, an alter ego that Mr.nymga uses to purge his fixation with being the best, setting traps for Gotham police and Batman to fall into, making himself the most loved and feared being in Gotham.

3. Rules are made to be broken: While researching the Riddler I came upon a article from the DCU (DC Universe) calling Eddie a "sociopath." Now at first, I wasn't sure what to make of that until I read the full definition of what a sociopath truly is and it is right up Nolan's alley. For all those who don't know what a sociopath is the definition basically says, "it is someone who has a disregard for others and is anti-social." After reading this it only made me believe in the Riddler as more of a threat, he is a super genius who thinks the world is his personal play ground, he is charming and cares nothing for the people he harms. With personality traits like this he is almost exactly what Bruce Wayne is pretending to be. So it wouldn't be a stretch to see Mr. Nymga and Bruce Wayne in the same circle adding a new level of suspense in the "cat and mouse" game Batman and the Riddler play.

4. The tell tell sign: Sadly, one rule will always exist, everything must come to an end, and I could only imagine how scary it must be to try and end a story as good as the one Nolan has told. But the Riddler could give us a brain teaser that we didn't get from the last Bat-flick, as well all remember from TDK the Joker was found by a super computer and I thought that that was a little too easy, although the super was great I wanted Batman to show us all why he is called "the World's Greatest Detective" (sorry Mr. Holmes) but if the Riddler is casted this will give us that brain teaser of an ending Nolan is famous for, the Riddler greatest weapon is also his greatest weakness, the need to send clues about his crimes make his dangerous but also vulnerable, his way of leaving clues about his crime and identity will force Batman to do some real detective work

Now I know there are more holes to fill such as Gotham's criminals, and I do have an idea about that as well but this editorial is just for the Riddler, my next editorial will take a look at the man the criminal world CAN BELIEVE IN, but until then comment and discuss.

There is a lot of thought put into this article and while I'm not 100% certain that the Riddler is the best "Big Bad" for the next Batman movie, I enjoyed reading this!

Nice article! Well thought out! I definately hope Riddler is in it and I hope its Joseph Gordon Levitt.
@Schocker Not a fan of him being the new DA. I agree he should be Bruce Waynes rival. After all he is a genius and should show it to the world via a company the rivals waynes. Definately a no on cat woman. I do hope they introduce Robin though.

yeah e.nymga is too cocky to be a civil servent but i would like to see jude law as the riddler he is a great actor and we have seen him be a charming figure in countless movies and i also agree that nolan should make this character almost the direct opposite of the joker

I love Jude Law as an actor. I have a hard time seeing him as Riddler. None the less anyone other than [frick]ing Johnny Depp. Please god no.

i agree with everything except for numer 1!
also JGL (JOESPH GORDON LEVITT) should play the riddler if not then David Tennant.
also robin williams should play Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot (The PENGUIN)
2 villians would be great. also nolan should leave it with a cliff hanger just incase other stories or some one else can pick it up and develop adaptations.

@plotmaster_22 Nice artice man!!!! Rules 3 and 4 really stand out to me as elements Nolan would use with the riddler.

I BELIEVE IN CHRISTOPHER NOLAN.

Good points of argument, plot master. I hope if the riddler is in Batman 3, we get some crazy clever, mind-blowing riddles.

SOMEBODY FOR HARLEY QUINN
CILLIAN MURPHY FOR A FINAL APPEARANCE

TWO-FACE

JOKER
AND WHOEVER IS NON REALISTIC OR ALREADY USED IN NOLAN'S WORLD THEN THEY WILL NOT APPEAR IN BAT 3. JOKER PENGUIN HAVE ALREADY BEEN CONFIRMED

I like your points for the Riddler. And I do agree the Riddler should be an arrogant, sociopathic businessman. I've thought about this in the past and to bring the Riddler up to date, I've kind of wanted him to be some kind of a cyber terrorist - so there's no bat-computer putting a spanner in the works there - using the web to set up his traps. Think of it, Batman up against an enemy who is so smart he can even outsmart the supercomputer that caught the Joker.

Keep up the good work plot master_22!
