Ian Abercrombie, the British actor who was a regular as Elaine's boss Mr. Pitt on the popular TV series "Seinfeld", has passed away at age 77. It was confirmed today that the actor, who played butler Alfred Pennyworth on The WB's live-action series "Birds of Prey", passed away this Thursday, but the cause of his death was not mentioned. Abercrombie's other, more recent credits include Professor Crumbs on "Wizards of Waverly Place" and the voice of Darth Sidious on "Star Wars: The Clone Wars".

Though "Birds of Prey" was only a one-season show, I thought Abercrombie did a good job as Alfred. R.I.P., Mr. Abercrombie.
