Things are have been rather quiet lately as far as news is concerned for the final installment in Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy. Aside from a few set reports and photos we haven't gotten much else, well you're in luck, I've got for you an exclusive CBM scoop on a potentially major plot point for The Dark Knight Rises, and it's something that I think most fans have been hoping to see and wondering whether or not it was something Nolan would be including in the film. Be sure to click at the bottom to "Confirm" or "Debunk".

As per the usual, the following should be taken with a grain of salt as it has NOT been confirmed by Warner Bros.

Bruce Wayne/Batman & Bane will certainly clash hard in The Dark Knight Rises and I can tell you this much, during their first fight against one-another will , Bane WILL break Batman's back!

Editors Note: Now I'm sure quite a few of you out there are simply going to brush this off as nothing more than speculation, or a complete flat out lie. However, I can guarantee this information comes from a completely reliable source, unlike that whole mess with the Man of Steel rumors from a while back. I wouldn't even bother giving this scoop a second read if it didn't come from where it did.

'The Dark Knight Rises' stars Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, Josh Pence, Nestor Carbonell, Michael Caine , and is set for a 20 July, 2012 release date.

Oops...not really what I want to hear!

No, not that I don't want it, but I doubt it can be done properly, especially after THAT happens!

Cool find tho @Comedian!

Y'know, I never knew how this would work out in film. With no Azrael apparent to pick up Bat's mantle, How will this movie work? IDK, but in Nolan we trust!

If it happens, it'll happen early on, so then, of course, Batman can Rise and all.

@SinisterUrge

Agreed. THE BAT WILL BREAK AFTER ALL!! This explains why he has to rise. Gotta get up sometime.

He'll probably break his back, and then we'll have a recovery/physical therapy Montague that takes place over a years time, allowing Ra's and Bane to take a firm hold on Gotham. Then, of course, he "rises" to the challenge and saves the bleedin world. or at least Gotham. Or Catwoman. along with his dignity/childhood

I think once he is broken, Catwoman will take over for most of the movie until Bruce is introduced to the Lazerus Pit.

I feel like maybe catwoman is going to take the place of Azrael? Cuz he's definitely not something they are going to explore.
cosmicstranger
cosmicstranger - 6/10/2011, 9:42 AM
@valeriesghost- That is probably how it will happen. If Nolan is going with 'believability,' then it might be possible for Batman to recover because there are surgeries now (if administered immediately after even severe spinal injury) that can allow the victim to make a full recovery.

@ironangel....that smells about right. Just don't wanna see a whole movie with no bats. Maybe bane will break his spirits, and not his back!

megabatfan - 6/10/2011, 9:47 AM
^^^ That's exactly what I was thinking. I didn't want Bane to "Break the Bat" in this outing because realistically, it would take a long time for anyone to recover from that kind of injury. What's gonna go on between then? There's no Robin, Nightwing or jean Paul Valley to protect Gotham...Don't tell me it's gonna be Catwoman!

Maybe if batmans back gets broken early on in the movie, theyll show time passed while he healed and as time passed catwoman took her own initiative to fight crime since batman was no longer around.

and then Watson turns to Sherlock and says, "No Shit."

as if they had any other kind of story in line.

sounds ready, set, terrible.

as a life long Bats fan I'm concerned that not only is the Knightfall storyline
dumb in that it's one of those 'let's temporarily disable one of our main characters'
that only boners fall for and enjoy; but also with all these added actors/actresses and the typical duration for a movie, it's going to feel like First Class on meth.

while there's no use complaining about what a shmuck villain Bane is, and that only poser fans enjoy him, Nolan (who is more than trustworthy) should be careful and might've been better off with a more classic villain as main, chosen from a rogue's gallery that developed over more than 50+ years.

btw this is not a 'big scoop' as the headline for the post mentioned.

Bane will break Batman´s spine then Nolan will REBOOT it right away in the middle of the movie, Batman will get better and kick Bane´s out of the ring.
ksmelley
ksmelley - 6/10/2011, 9:53 AM
There is no way his back will get broken. Maybe Bane beats the hell out of him, sure. But you cant realistically expect someone to get their back broken and by the end of the same movie be able to fight again. I doubt Nolan will have the movie cover that long of a time span.
hoodedjester
hoodedjester - 6/10/2011, 9:55 AM
I so did not see that coming? I mean why put Bane in there if he isn't gonna do sum damage ;P

Seriously tho - whatever they do with it - it will be nice to see Batman get his ass kicked and then come back to save the day.

Bane puts Batman out of commission. In result Catwoman, a female Batman imposter {like the ones in TDK} takes his place to restore peace and justice in the ravaged Gotham???

I wonder what type of threat Bane poses to Gotham....
*League of Shadows
*Arkham Breakout
???

Catwoman is Batman's legacy. I think the movie will end showing that Gotham doesn't need Batman anymore. He was a symbol that anyone could stand up and fight.

This was a rumor (posted on here) a while back too so I'd expect it to be true. Sounds good to me! Can't have Bane w/o a beating of Batman!
