-"Yes, I was right next to Bale when he started on his path of combat towards Bane. Hardy and Bale were in costume and looked awesome!"

-"No, he came out with the winter jacket but when he was fighting, he had the brown long sleeves on under the vest. He took his mask off when their fighting was done "

I don't know if some of you remember this,but wasn't there a scene filmed early in filming where Batman is navigating an airplane?I wonder how that will fit into the storyline...

@TheSpaceGhost That's some interesting stuff.

@nailbiter111 YES!

@Cerebro Would be cool. My first impression was: How cool would it be to have that in my garage.
But then I remembered I didn't have a garage...

A city taken over by a terrorist for months?! It's police force locked away underground for months?! What happened to the National Guard? Heck, all the different branches of the US Military? This makes no sense.

Please God let them be filming secret Joker scenes because everything about this movie looks and sounds awful.

so Bane is taking the Hitler approach by manipulating the citizens of Gotham, and blaming the city officials and law enforcement for Gotham problems.

It's just a movie, not everything has to be realistic. Where were the military when the Destroyer was taking over New Mexico in Thor? Hell, there weren't even cops there.

@ VideoColor,

No president would be ok with it, heck, no governor, no senate or house of representative, no military personnel, no common-sense American.

I wonder how the movie is going to explain that Gotham is so abandoned by the rest of the USA.

And btw, the first person that brings politics to the conversation by saying something retarded like "Obama would be ok with it", wins an authentic Retard Prize.

@Intruder

Obama said it's ok for Bane to takeover Gotham, no national guard needed. lol Seriously i'am curious to see how do Christopher Nolan keep the U.S government out of this little fiasco.

Priest - 11/5/2011, 5:30 PM
@ Booyah,

The government was there, SHIELD agents where there, and besides, the Destroyer's time on Earth was a matter of hours, not months.

Military does have a presence.

Bane's weapon has been speculated to be an EMP.

Hercules C-130 Jet filmed with people parachuting out...

Seems like the Air Force was needed.

I guess the inspiration for Nolan's Bane is Lord Humongous from Mad Max. Both are big ugly guys wearing masks and leading an army of rag-tag anarchists.

It is possible for an individual to over throw a city. and it makes it more difficult since Gotham is an island like New York, making it almost impossible to get much needed ground artillery inside if the baddies are controlling the bridges ala Joker from the previous movie. And also Lucius did inform Bruce that Wayne enterprises have government contracts making the connection for Bane to have weapons and controll. Communist have done this countless times in history leaving the country at odds taking down such a forceful individual in which many fear and even more follow for fear of death.

I don't post often, but whenever I read the TDKR comments I read I notice one thing, Intruder... get out... stop talking... just f***ing leave, you area coward and a freak. You bring nothing to the table but slander... you are a poor excuse for a man... its people like you that bring down the rest of the world. You truly are worthless and your words are poison, go away.

@ 3D,

An EMP can take on the whole US Military? From what I understand, an EMP emitter would fry electronics, so, in theory, let's say that all the hardware of the military is fried, they still have thousands of soldiers that can just march to Gotham on foot and destroy Bane's militia.

The only thing I think that would kinda make sense is if the super-science gizmo that Bane uses is some sort of energy shield generator that keeps the rest of the World from entering Gotham.
Priest
Priest - 11/5/2011, 5:44 PM
I just don't buy it. A rag-tag ill-armed militia CAN'T take on the US Military. Period. It just doesn't happen.
Priest
Priest - 11/5/2011, 5:45 PM
They could control Gotham, for hours, maybe days, maybe weeks tops while the military gets a plan together. But months? Seriously, months? Hell no.

@Priest & Armines- I was just using an example of how movies don't have to be majorly realistic. In real life I'm sure local cops and S.H.I.E.L.D agents would have jumped in the fight when Thor was laying there knocked out.

@Intuder- If this Marvel vs DC thing is that serious to you that you have to call me mentally challenged because I don't time how long a villain is in a movie then there's no point in trying to argue with me. I don't take it that seriously.

@smgmayhem & @Dawnelldo

Precisely.

Also, I remember hearing talk about a scene being shot in NY soon involving pyro on a bridge.

Not to mention the blocked off tunnel filmed in LA.

Plus the rumored flood probably challenges any attempts for the Coast Guard as well.

Gotham is difficult to access.

Which fits into what @Batman72012 is talking about...

A Hercule C-130 Air Force Jet was filmed in Cardington.

@ BooYah,

Well, it will take a whole lot of suspension of disbelief to swallow this plot.
Priest

@ 3D,

So it takes the US military months to overcome those obstacles? Months, seriously?
