THE BATMAN: We May Finally Have Confirmation Regarding Ben Affleck's Future As The Dark Knight

Though there's still no official word from Warner Bros. or director Matt Reeves, a new trade report has seemingly provided solid confirmation in regards to Ben Affleck's future in the role of Batman...

In their report on Geoff Johns' decision to step down as DC Entertainment's Chief Content Officer, Deadline rather casually mention that Matt Reeves' upcoming take on The Caped Crusader will indeed be a reboot, and that Ben Affleck is "not likely" to reprise the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

This obviously gels with many long-standing rumors that have popped up ever since Reeves replaced Affleck as the project's director, but more recently we were led to believe that the actor may have had a change of heart and decided to stay on as the iconic DC hero.

At any rate, this shouldn't be taken as 100% confirmation that Affleck has hung up the cape 'n cowl. Deadline's sources are generally rock-solid, of course, but until we hear directly from the studio, you just never know for certain.

Should've, could've, would've, I'll wait until I hear it from either Ben himself or set pics of him in the suit.

@TheLight - Can I just say thank you Mark Cassidy. Finally a none opinion piece + rumor filled + clickbait article.

Been avoiding clicking the trash that comes out of Wilding's keyboard. Glad there are still editors with integrity on here.

@xxon - It's not click bait if you don't actually click on it. I try to avoid Wilding articles like the plague. I usually just do a separate search of the same keywords and end up finding a similar article somewhere where I can get my answers guilt-free.

"..may finally have confirmation"

.. but it's NOT a confirmation

Confirmation: "the action of confirming something"

@Warcam - this is exactly what I do now. No more reading his articles and finding the information elsewhere the only thing that has changed of late is the frequency of his articles. We’re getting more than ever

So basically Deadline know as little as we do in relation to whether Affleck will appear, and are speculating. Great.

@obarium - Seriously. If enough people recycle the same rumor then by the 3rd or 4th time it somehow changes to confirmation. Even though no new information's come forward.

I honestly stopped caring. Just actually get this movie rolling! Also sucks because I really liked Ben Afflecks Batman and it would suck to reboot the character after just getting a new version of him in 2016

I still don't understand why these rumours continue when he's staying as Batman...
