THE BATMAN: We May Finally Have Confirmation Regarding Ben Affleck's Future As The Dark Knight
Though there's still no official word from Warner Bros. or director Matt Reeves, a new trade report has seemingly provided solid confirmation in regards to Ben Affleck's future in the role of Batman...
In their report on Geoff Johns' decision to step down as DC Entertainment's Chief Content Officer, Deadline rather casually mention that Matt Reeves' upcoming take on The Caped Crusader will indeed be a reboot, and that Ben Affleck is "not likely" to reprise the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman.
This obviously gels with many long-standing rumors that have popped up ever since Reeves replaced Affleck as the project's director, but more recently we were led to believe that the actor may have had a change of heart and decided to stay on as the iconic DC hero.
At any rate, this shouldn't be taken as 100% confirmation that Affleck has hung up the cape 'n cowl. Deadline's sources are generally rock-solid, of course, but until we hear directly from the studio, you just never know for certain.
