We had been led to believe that The Batman might be set to begin shooting later this year, but a new update suggests that director Matt Reeves won't get cameras rolling until 2020. More past the jump...

It's been a while since we've heard anything about plans for Matt Reeves' Batman movie, but this latest update may not sit too well with fans.

Despite recent reports that production was scheduled to get underway this fall, Variety's Justin Kroll has now heard that the script isn't quite ready and cameras may not begin rolling until early 2020.

There's always a chance this isn't accurate, of course, but a production delay would explain why we haven't had so much as a sniff of official casting news yet.

The usual suspects continue to pop up as rumored candidates to replace Ben Affleck as The Dark Knight, but reliable sources have confirmed that Reeves and Warner Bros. haven't settled on their star just yet.

What do you guys make of this update? Who would you like to see step into the cape 'n cowl of The Batman?

To be honest, I want an unknown actor. It’s been forever since we had an unknown for a superhero the only time I can even think of an unknown being cast was Christopher Reeve.

@SuperbatSpider1003 - Chris Hemsworth was relatively unknown

@SuperbatSpider1003 - You must have harsh definition of an unknown.

@SuperbatSpider1003 - ????????

Chris Hemsworth and Tom Holland were very unknown when they were cast, same with Ruffalo to my knowledge. That is unless your definition of unknown is like a non actor or something.
