Post-credit scenes have become the norm in many blockbusters thanks to Marvel Studios, though they've only been used sporadically in the DCEU. With The Batman set in its own Batverse, has director Matt Reeves included an extra scene at the end of the credits that's worth waiting for?
Sadly, no. With that being said, there is something that you might want to stick around for after the credits begin rolling...
Throughout The Batman, The Riddler taunts the World's Greatest Detective with various riddles (obviously), with "RATAALADA" among them. The villain also uses an antiquated computer to communicate with Gotham's Dark Knight, and right at the end of the credits, "Goodbye" is typed out on screen before a URL flashes on screen: https://www.rataalada.com/
Following this takes you to a website that asks the visitor to solve a series of riddles. The answers you need to input are "Mask," "Confusion," and "Renewal," and you can then choose to download a Zip File that's accessed with the password, "promise." Inside is a campaign ad for Thomas Wayne's bid to become Gotham City's Mayor that may or may not tease the sequel's villain.
We'll have more to share with you soon, but this is a clever addition, and a fun extra for those willing to wait a few extra minutes to see all the amazing people who made the film a reality.
