THE BATMAN Star Zoe Kravitz Touches On Her "Intense" Training Process To Play Catwoman

We've yet to catch a glimpse of Zoe Kravitz on The Batman set, but during a new interview the Catwoman actress reveals that she has started shooting, while also touching on her intense training regime...

The Batman officially commenced production  last month, and while we have seen plenty of set photos and official shots of Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight since then, there's been no sign of Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle.

The Big Little Lies actress recently revealed during an interview with Variety that she's been "training and rehearsing" with Pattinson for the past few weeks, but it now sounds like she's finally stepped in front of the camera to film scenes as our new Catwoman.

THE BATMAN: Taking A Closer Look At The Batmobile And Robert Pattinson's Batsuit

While chatting to the Questlove Supreme podcast, Kravitz was asked how she prepared to suit-up in the iconic cat-suit previously donned by the likes of Michelle Pfeiffer and Anne Hathaway. “It’s pretty intense. We started shooting two weeks ago, but before that I was in London for two months, just getting in shape, training, learning fights,” she said.

Kravitz didn't share any new details about her take on The Dark Knight's feline foe, but she did recently touch on how excited she was when she first accepted the role, and how that elation turned to slight trepidation once she realized how "dedicated and opinionated" the fans were.

"If you start focusing too much on what people are going to think you’re doing yourself a disservice, it’s almost like you’re putting your energy in the wrong place. Of course, I want to honor the fans and hope they like what I do with the role, but in order to do what I think I need to do with Catwoman I have to go internal and forget about the rest of the world."

The Batman is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021, and will also star Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred, and more.

@GhostofCipher - love this Talia.

We need a Bat film with Selina and Talia in the mix. Would create some great drama.

@BlackBeltJones - Talia date raping Batman is gonna be pretty controversial if they decide to introduce Damian that way (assuming Pattinson has signs onto more after movie 3)

@GhostofCipher - I hope they lean into Arabic actors and stuff with Ra's this time.

Oh hell yes!

And call him rashe.

Oh hell no!

@GhostofCipher - Then it should be Rayis Al Ghul. I'd rather have the correct pronunciation than other stuff.

@tmp3 - All they gotta do is make it consensual like in Rises.

@TheJustinHammer - Now all I can think of is a young Robin making fun of Ra's by calling him "Ratatouille"

@BlackBeltJones - It's hilarious that both Batman and Joker have women fighting their exes.

People are going nuts for Punchline online and have already started cosplaying the character.

Now, she and Harley are headed for a showdown.

It's not gonna be long before she starts showing up in cartoons, video games, and the movies.

@BlackBeltJones - Bro...I'm jealous! I love her work and I've become a wicked big fan of Jenny Frison over the last few years. I want to get some blank covers splashed by both of them.

@Lostcause - It was a simple pic and signing but she was super welcoming for the quick minute and very chill. Enough for me to have a crush on her the rest of that weekend too haha.

Frison is dope.

@BlackBeltJones - I dig her too.I can't wait for The Joker: 80 Years of the Clown Prince of Crime and more of her origin. I just sent two copies of Year of the Villain Hell Arisen #3 and Batman #89 off to CGC.

I was nervous about her acting ability until I saw High Fidelity on Hulu. She has tremendous range and will do great in this role.
