Christian Bale is in demand. With The Dark Knight breaking the billion-dollar mark and Bale getting ready to relaunch The Terminator franchise, he could very well become the Harrison Ford of this generation [at one point, Harrison Ford was in seven of the top ten highest-grossing films of all time].

After portraying the future John Connor in Terminator Salvation, Bale will portray Melvin Purvis, Special Agent with the FBI in Public Enemies, Michael Mann's Depression-era gangster pic, also starring Johnny Depp.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bale had this to say about filming the famous FBI raid on the Little Bohemia Lodge in Wisconsin:

"I fired so many bullets in those woods in the middle of the night, I was literally tasting metal for a week afterwards."

Of course, the fans at ComicBookMovie.com are more concerned about Bale's return to the cape and cowl in a sequel to The Dark Knight than they are his turn as a G-Man. So, what's the deal, Bale? Bale told TotalFilm.com:

"Will we do a third movie? It's got to be the right story. You can't make something like The Dark Knight and then come out with something disappointing. I would like it if people say, 'You'll never make a good third movie.' I say, 'OK, let's make a third movie in that case, let's prove them wrong. But that's just me. The fact is, I have to! I've signed up! Chris doesn't. So I'm in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn't want to!"

After Public Enemies, Bale will star in Bryan Singer's Prisoners alongside Mark Wahlberg.

Catch Bale in Terminator Salvation May 23rd and then in Public Enemies July 1st!
