Will We See Batman Take To The Skies In TDKR?

Word is that as well as a new Batmobile, the Caped Crusader will also have some aerial form of transportation in The Dark Knight Rises..

BOF have some info from one of their long time sources. It seems there is the possibility that Batman will be utilizing some type of aerial vehicle in Chris Nolan's upcoming threequel..

“One of my sources mentioned the possibility of an appearance of [an aerial Bat-Vehicle]. The more I thought about it, the more sense it made with the planned shooting locations. Could be interesting!“

Of course when we think aerial Bat vehicle we thing The Batwing. But I think if this is legit, Nolan will be going a slightly different route. Given that this will be Nolan's last bat movie, I don't doubt that he will be stepping it up in every respect, and that includes Batman's rides! I for one think this is on the level.

Their source also says that after the destruction of the Tumbler in the last movie, we will be getting a new redesigned Batmobile. But then, I think most of us take that as a given anyway!

I had a feeling we would see a new bat vehicle in this film (not including a new batmobile).

Batman Begins was visually influenced by Blade Runner,
The Dark Knight was visually influenced by Heat,
I wonder what The Dark Knight Rises will be influenced by.

Oh PLEASE don't Schumacher this movie!!! Keep it simple, stick to the story and don't rely on FX to make this work.

Sounds plausible and bullshit at the same time. You got a new vehicle in the second film and it wouldn't be a stretch to add another for the third film, but at the same time, what would BATMAN be doing in the Batwing (or any kind of aircraft) that wont be retarded in a Nolan film?

Stopping missles?

Having a dog fight with another aircraft?

Using it to target some item and destroy it?

Personal travel vehicle so he won't have to do what he did to get to Hong Kong?

We know Wayne has his own private plane, As seen in BB. and we know they have govenrment military contracts, hince where the suits, tumbler, and equiptment came from. So it IS likely that Wayne Enterprises worked on a new small Airforce vehicle that the government rejected and they still have the prototype in R&D. The only question would be "Does it come in Black?"

why not more of a glider? using high powered fans in order to generate lift, more of a rocket like engine in order to create forward thrust. they have ones like this. heck, they have actual cars that turn into planes! copter is too loud, too bulky. jet is just too quick and impractical in a city scenario.
batglider, i can imagine that.

A stealth bomber would a pretty big effing jet to be riding around a city in, and he's gonna need to have a bunch of landing strips all around town too. A helicopter makes more sense, but you never know. Cool stuff!

i hope it is the Bat-copter LOL That would be so funny. The whole movie has the feel and awesomeness as The Dark Knight, but then out of nowhere comes the campy Bat-copter from Adam West's time lol...

Possibly a bat hover craft type vehicle. silent, not much bigger than the tumbler. That would be pretty sweet, maybe using that while a new tumbler 2.0 is getting built by himself and Luscious or however you spell it.

If he's operating purely in Gotham, then a mini-jet is just impractical and unnecessary.
