Director Christopher Nolan Talks About Filming The Dark Knight Using IMAX Technology

The Dark Knight, the eagerly-anticipated sequel to Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins (2005) is being produced with shots specifically designed for release in IMAX theaters. While it is somewhat common for popular film releases to be re-formatted for the 15/70 IMAX format, The Dark Knight will be the first major motion picture film to blend traditional and IMAX filming techniques.

The Dark Knight stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman and Aaron Eckhart and is scheduled for release July 18, 2008.
