Things Lindsey35 wants from BATMAN in MAN OF STEEL SEQUEL and future solo films

Hey guys! Thought I would share with you what I want to see from Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel. Personally, I think people are overacting about Ben Affleck taking on the cape and cowl.

I honestly have to wait and see because I’m not familiar with the actor’s work. I’m psyched that they actually picked an actor—because that’s just another reminder THIS IS HAPPENING! Ben fits the profile, in my honest opinion, so as of now, I don’t have a problem with this decision. I have faith in Zack Snyder and his vision, because Man of Steel was the Superman movie I was craving and looking for. The pacing was of course a tad rushed, but all in all, it was still an epic and emotional masterpiece.

So, what do I want from Batman in the Man of Steel sequel and future solo films?

I’ll start it off with this:

DIFFER FROM THE NOLAN UNIVERSE:

The Nolan series is so…complex for me. I love it—I truly do. But Batman never felt like…Batman to me. Here’s the funny part, I view the Nolan trilogy so highly, that it’s more than a Batman trilogy—because everything Nolan does is so phenomenal. Batman, to me, felt less than Batman though (and I blame realism). The Bruce Wayne part on the other hand, Nolan and co. hit the nail, but for the Batman aspect, I don’t think they used him to his full potential. The combat scenes always felt way too short. One thing I want from the new Batman that differs from the Nolan Universe, would be: more; just more Batman altogether and LESS REALISM. I want this new take to show how badass Batman truly is. I want it show us how intimidating and mean he can be, like the Arkham games. I’m not saying that the Nolan Universe didn’t give us that (Batman interrogating Joker FOR THE WIN) I’m saying I want more Batman, less Bruce Wayne, and tone down the realism.

PAUL DINI:

Either get him to write the screenplay or get inspiration from him. The man is a Batman GENIUS. Don’t believe me? Go play the Arkham games, watch Batman: The Animated Series, or anything else Batman related that he has done.

LESS/OR NO ARMOR AT ALL:

I want to see a Batman who doesn’t have to wear armor (or at least very little). Batman should be so badass, that he doesn’t need it. As much as I love the Arkham games, Batman still wears armor to protect himself, but I can understand that because of the health meter. I want a Batman who doesn’t worry about getting hit by a bullet. I want one who is so badass, he can dodge bullets and crack the gunman’s skull.

TRADITIONAL COSTUME:

On film, the all black, gothic suit has been done since 1989. It’s time to be different people. And please, like Superman, keep the underwear on the INSIDE.

USE GADGETS, BUT MAKE HIM INDEPENDENT WITHOUT THE BELT:

Have the gadgets, because that’s one of those things that make him Batman, but make him independent without the belt. Batman should have the crazy and cool gadgets and tools, but if he gets into a situation where he is without his utility belt, don’t make him completely helpless. He is a master escape artist—he should know what to do if he is on his own or if his gadgets have been taken from him. I would love to see a scene where Batman makes an escape without having to use something from the belt, because it would display how smart and cunning he is.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO USE DIFFERENT VILLAINS:
In case you didn’t notice, Warner Bros., there are more villains than the Joker. Use Killer Croc, Penguin, Hush, Black Mask, Mad Hatter! There are bunches that haven’t been used!

Well that's it, guys. Agree? Disagree? Comment below!

I kind of disagree with the armor aspect of it, he NEEDS to wear armor. No matter how Badass Batman is, he's still a MAN, and no man is going to dodge a bullet traveling between 1100-4000 feet per second, some rifle calibers even travel at supersonic speeds! They can make the armor more streamline and less bulky, but it has to be there.

Batsuit needs to be based off of Alex Ross. Ross's Batsuit is the best Batsuit ever.

Batman does need armor though. Try to use armor like Arkham City or Arkham Origins.

Hell even the New 52 suit is armored.

Translating this article for fanboys.

DIFFER FROM THE NOLAN UNIVERSE
means
Smiling a little more until it becomes natural for you.

PAUL DINI
means
You can actually show interest in having fun without getting embarrassed.

LESS/OR NO ARMOR AT ALL
means
Go outside and catch some sun on your albino skin.

TRADITIONAL COSTUME
means
You can wear matching clothing from an actual department store, and not feel guilty because it doesn't have much significance.

USE GADGETS, BUT MAKE HIM INDEPENDENT WITHOUT THE BELT
means
Tell some jokes, but actually be able to make some small talk to keep a conversation going.

DON’T BE AFRAID TO USE DIFFERENT VILLAINS
means
It's ok to meet new people, and even tell them your name... no, your real name. They likely won't put you in the back of a van.

I've seriously lost count of how many different articles just like this one have been put up, all saying the exact same thing (be more of a detective, different suit, less like Nolan, etc.) Sorry, but a traditional comic suit will just look stupid on film, and makes no sense anyway. He has to have armor, he's not bulletproof. And since he works mainly at night, it should probably be black, or at least a very dark gray.

If you want to see Bruce Wayne maybe escape or something without the belt, that's fine. But why would he be in his Batman suit without the belt? (You could have him be captured I guess and have them remove the belt, but frankly he should be smart enough to not get captured in the first place.) One of the main ways he proves his cunning is by designing the gadgets he needs because he anticipates various scenarios, so if anything I want to see more gadgets (as long as they're not just silly, like "bat-shark repellent, lol.)

I cant disagree with any of this. Now, sure there are more villains other than Joker, but you cant do a Batman series without him. However, they do need to use more villains.

I've been dying to see Black Mask in a film. That dude is one of the most twisted and sadistic villains in all of comics. He force fed Catwoman's sister's husband or whatever his own eye ball for fugg's sake. And with him wanting to be the mob boss of Gotham and his obsession with masks (and wanting Batman's) the story practically writes itself.
