First off, if you don't want to know what could possibly happen in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises then stop reading this. Everything that follows are mostly spoilers from the movie.

OK, so below you can read some interesting plot spoilers regarding the new Batman movie. Catwoman's role is revealed and some other cool stuff.

"I just talked to a good source near the Batcamp and have come away with information about The Dark Knight Rises that confirms lots of speculation from recent months.

Here goes nothing:

As she herself confirmed, Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman in the movie. I can’t tell you what role she has in the beginning, but by the end of the story Catwoman isn’t a villain but rather an ally of Batman. And who are they teaming up to take out?

The League of Shadows.

Headed by Talia Al’Ghul. With Bane, who is her muscle/possible love interest. And with Joseph Gordon-Levitt in tow. Is he playing Black Mask? My source didn’t know, but did know that Levitt is certainly an antagonist and involved with the League of Shadows."


Remember, nothing is confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt for now.

MINOR UPDATE: Batman-On-Film.com posted on their Facebook page that this plot summary is indeed true:

"FYI: Some TDKR details have leaked. I know that they are true because I've known about it for a few weeks now."


Again, nothing is confirmed until we get the official word. But all this definitely sounds pretty good. Stay tuned for more updates!

batman and catwoman vs the league of shadows [frick]ing epic. if this true then great news, and atleast bane's not going to be a simple brute. bring on rises, and JGL as Black Mask is cool, he'll probably team up with the league so he can take over the mob in gotham. Hopefully its true but I doubt it

I wanna point out that, IF Bane IS a member of the League of Shadows, then it'll give Nolan a reason to give Bane a mask.

So Bane could be wearing like a modified 'ninja cowl' during certain scenes.

I do not know, it sounds like a common fan theory on the internet that the third movie will go back to the first but I do not know if it works that way. The Dark Knight had few elements in the beginning that linked to the first movie then went on it's own maybe the same thing will happen for Dark Knight Rises.

I do like the idea that the villains are all connected and it would be cool to see that in the third movie but somehow it feels off like the story trying to use every rumor along with the few confirmations.

I'm curious what the third Batman movie would have been had Heath Ledger never died. Of course, he would have been a part of Dark Knight rises, the question is how much the story has been altered as a result. League of shadows is an interesting way to tie the franchise finale back to 'Begins'. But the biggest question of course: Is Tom Hardy going to go with a Mexican accent?

@GUNSMITH I'll bet we see some mask in every movie the villains had their physical traits even Two Face had the half burnt suit Ra's Al Ghul had a mustache and beard even.

Oh wow. I hope this is all true and not just too good to be true. This would tie the whole trilogy together very nicely and complete Nolan's take on Batman. I just really want him to leave it open somehow.

Realy, you guys are trusting this?!? Nolan is known for keeping things close to the chest, particularly with something this big. There is no way that some random, unconfirmed source would find out this information. Besides, everything that the "reputable source" says sounds eirily like some fanfic, not likely what we would see from Nolan. I'll be waiting for the big red DEBUNCT on this article in the next few days.

@adamwest I'm curious too, maybe they'll talk about it in a commentary for the future DVD release, it'd be interesting.

I think Bane is going to be more like he is in Secret Six nowadays, I saw him without his mask on, and he didn't look Mexican at all.

Nice sounds great, but I'll believe it when I see it.
I like the offbeat useage of Catwoman and the marginalizing of Bane.
Plus the inclusion of the League of Shadows bookends the trilogy well.

I wonder how with that description they are going to insert the inevitable
spinal injury associated with Bane's sole role in Bat's lineage? It seems like
a pretty time-involved (movie length-wise) thing to pull off with all that is
described above taking place.

Sure am glad JGL is in it.

so basically they are giving batman a sidekick just throwing a pair of boobs on it with a sexy costume? i still dont get why robin the DCU's most acrobatic fighter isnt fathomable. dont hate im just saying. still looking forward to this. batman against the league of shadows sounds like a great way to finish the series....if this is true

I don't buy it. It stated that Bane would be Talia's "muscle". As everyone knows, that's how Bane was in Batman and Robin. I can dig the idea of the League Of Shadows returning, but Bane being a part of them is ridiculous. Nolan draws heavily from the source, and this would dive away from the source material, so I doubt this is true. Bane deserves the entire spotlight, not next to Talia. That's bullshit.
