BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Credits Give Ben Affleck Top Billing

Nothing Earth shattering here, but the credits for Batman V Superman: DOJ have been posted online (possibly heralding the first poster for the movie?) and they reveal that Affleck gets top billing over Henry Cavill. Somewhat surprising considering this is technically a sequel to Man Of Steel?

While we anxiously await that first Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice trailer, here's a little tidbit to keep you going. The credits for the Zack Snyder-directed follow up to Man Of Steel have found their way online via the movie's official website, and they make it very clear that Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader is to be the star of the show. Affleck is a bigger name than Henry Cavill (for now) so it's probably understandable that they give him top billing; though it could also be seen as odd when you consider that Batman is the one coming on board a Superman sequel.

Hardly a big deal anyway, but interesting nonetheless. There aren't really any other surprises in the credits... though Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman aside,  none of the other Justice League members get a mention.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to be released on March 25th, 2016.

This is as much a sequel to Man of Steel as Iron Man is to The Incredible Hulk. They already said Superman would get a second solo film in 2018.

Oh well, knew this would be the case, doesn't change a thing for me, can't wait!

Yeah it initially bothered me, but I've stopped worrying about what movie this should be a sequel to and all that stuff. It's a cinematic universe, so technically they should ALL be sequels to each other. That's really the only way to look at it now.

It's not a MOS sequel, it's a prequel to the JL

It doesn't make chronological sense in terms of solo movies and team movies, but I'm rolling with it

Guess it's kinda like Cap America Civil War...not really the 3rd Cap movie, well it is, but you know...like Saurons said, they're all connected, that's why it's great...

Could be worse. His name could appear before the title like RDJ's.

And nine people are the main cast in the film? Sheesh, this seems stuffed. How will Snyder be able to handle all of those people?

Not bothered by this like some people who for ever reason were tearing their hair out when Marvel did it for RDJ in Avengers AoU.

Yeah this is a team-up movie, not a Superman movie. Ben Aflleck is the biggest star right now, so it makes sense he'd get Top billing.

No surprise. Jack Nicholson got top billing over Michael Keaton. RDJ will probably get top billing over Chris Evans in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR. He's more well known than Henry, not a dig.

I'm more surprised to see Nolan's name as an Exec Producer.

Poor Henry, but he has the Superman solo film coming up soon, so he's good. It would be really funny though if the solo Superman film has Supergirl, Superboy & Steel. Though I personally would like to see them all being in the next Superman movie.

Just because he gets top billing DOESN'T mean he's getting more screen time than Cavill, just sayin.

It makes sense. What's really interesting is how low Gadot's name is. Does she have a smaller role than what we thought?
Ghostpointzero

Well Ben is more known than Henry, like him or hate his is more recognizable and household name than Henry who is still rather new to the game.

No it isn't. RDJ got top billing and in the middle of the poster in Avengers...

And AOU...

Meanwhile Evans got 2nd for Avengers and 4th for AOU.

I guess this confirms the rumors that David Goyer got fired were fake.
