BATMAN V SUPERMAN: Zack Snyder On How 'Robin's Death At The Hands Of 'The Joker' Shaped The Dark Knight
In a new interview, Snyder confirms that "a" Robin died about 10 years before the events of Batman V Superman, and explains how that helped shape the more ruthless Batman we meet in the film.
The Caped Crusader (Ben Affleck) we encounter in Batman V Superman is a vigilante that's become consumed by rage and vengeance, and seems to have lost sight of his original mission somewhat.
It's been implied that one of the major reasons for this was the loss of his sidekick, Robin, and in the video interview below director Zack Snyder confirms as much - while also revealing that the Boy Wonder (or perhaps more tellingly, "a" Boy Wonder) met his fate at the hands of a young Joker 10 years before the events of the movie.
At the end of Batman V Superman, Bruce Wayne seems a tad more optimistic about humanity, and has a renewed sense of purpose as he sets his plan to unite the Justice League in motion.
Could we see a new Robin join him, perhaps? Or is it more likely that a character who used to carry that mantle will return?
