Ben Affleck (Gone Girl) talks here briefly about the Comic-Con footage and the influence that Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns has had on Zack Snyder's vision. Oh, and what happens when he's asked to do that Batman voice? You'll have to hit the jump to find out!

Thanks to the leaked Comic-Con footage from back in July, we already know that Frank Miller's criticaly acclaimed The Dark Knight Returns will heavily influence Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and in a new interview, star Ben Affleck has addressed the impact he believes that will have on not just this movie but each of the Caped Crusader's past big screen adventures.

"Yeah, I don't want to answer too many Batman questions because it is a Gone Girl thing, but I will say that I think Zack [Snyder] was heavily influenced by that," Affleck tells MTV News in the video interview above. "I think everyone's heavily influenced by that...that's the seminal work. So, I don't think that there's any of these which have been made that haven't drawn from that book because it's so good. So, you know, I think if you're smart you steal from the best. That's why I'm going to rip David [Fincher] off from now on everywhere I go!" When he was asked to show off a little of his Batman voice for the movie, the actor adopted a slightly lower tone before correcting himself and jokingly saying: "Ah, you've gotta pay...that's IMAX money to see that!"

Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, and Jeremy Irons, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to be released on March 25th, 2016.

I hate Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns, because the way he wrote Superman, hope that's completely different in the movie.

As much as I love The Dark Knight Returns, the one thing I was hoping for in our new Batman was to not take the TDKR route. But it's Batman v Superman... of course it's gonna take inspiration from that.

I hope he gets fed up with all these Batman questions and punches the next reporter who asks him about Batman in the face... kinda how Batman would punch a guy in the face.

@hgokuh
I don't think Snyder/Goyer/Terrio would dare adapt Miller's Superman. He's a shameful government puppet in that book. I have hopes that we'll get a great Man of Steel here.

I love The Dark Knight Returns, but I rather not see it adapted on the big screen. Just want to see the perfect Batman on screen now, since we have yet to see it.

Really hope they have other Batman/Superman comics to get some influence from.

It won't have the same ending as TDKR because of justice league and wonder woman in the movie so this superman should be different from the comic.there is also lois lane, Lex, and all these other characters in the movie that were not in the comic,

No way Superman is going to become a government puppet, that would just ruin the continuity.

I wouldn't mind seeing Superman working with the government to a certain extent in Dawn of Justice. After Man of Steel, it would make sense for Superman to try to get on the government's good side (and I suppose vice versa). As long as he's not shown doing anything too extreme and at one point he learns working with (or "for") the government is a mistake, I see nothing wrong with it. Him working with the government could serve as a partial reason for traveling to Gotham, and by film's end it could even help set up the Suicide Squad.

I'm not saying he should be a puppet by any means, but a brief "partnership" of sorts would be an interesting route to go.

If Ben's Batman is influenced by TDKR then I am looking forward to see Batman be Psychopathic, Paranoid & a Sociopath. That being said I hope this won't just be the only influence. I personally think there is better portrayals of Batman then just this one.

plus there are the now confirmed anti superman crowds in the movie. so he has to prove to people that he is not a threat.

Ive hated everything frank miller has written, the dark knight returns is the closest thing he has written in my opinion to being good, all im hoping for is they take the inspiration of batman coming out of retirement from that book. I swear if he's an insane old man ill be pissed. And he better not be ASBAR Batman

You even hate Year One?

They better not take inspiration from AS(S)BAR AT ALL. That is not Batman, that is an insane asylum patient who won the lottery and decided to become Batman.

I see no problem with a scene like the SDCC footage in the film. While I doubt we'll see that exact footage in the film, I expect something similar to it. I mean we were only able to see some leaked footage, so I'm sure it's not as dark as it looks, I think the rain will cause any issues, and if needed they'd be able to make it look brighter.
