Christian Bale Reveals Why His BATMAN Should Never Have Met Henry Cavill's SUPERMAN

Despite rumours Christian Bale was in talks to return as the Caped Crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the actor has already revealed those never took place and now weighs in on why it wouldn't have been right to insert his Dark Knight into another franchise...

Christian Bale is doing the promotional rounds for Sir Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods of Kings at the moment, and with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice recently wrapping up principal photography, it's inevitable that he's been quizzed about the Zack Snyder helmed movie. Talking to IGN Movies, the actor was asked if he feels that there was still room to continue exploring his version of the Caped Crusader in a fourth movie. As great as that sounds, Bale points out that The Dark Knight is a "character that could have kept on going and going and going," but "it was right for Chris [Nolan] to finish it where he did." That's something we've heard a number of times from both him and Christopher Nolan, but what about bringing the worlds of Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Trilogy in Batman v Superman? "Ours doesn't belong in any other version at all," he said, before adding "It was appropriate to leave at the right time," when asked what it would have been like to see Bale's Batman meet Henry Cavill's Superman. What might have been, eh?

I was utterly baffled as to why people wanted Bale's Batman going against Superman. As much as love that Batman, and those movies, it would've been totally wrong.

It would have worked fine. They shouldn't be fighting in the first place.

Why would anyone want a cool Batman to cross paths with the shittiest superman ever?! Cavill's worse than Routh even!

I really enjoy The Dark Knight trilogy, but that portrayl of Batman wouldn't have the necesities to fight Supes. Hell, he got his ass beaten by a NON-Venom Bane.

"It was appropriate to leave at the right time"

That is correct; NEVER milk a franchise past its prime. Otherwise, you end up with a dense and dry endless connected universe.

"Christian Bale Reveals Why His BATMAN Should Never Have Met Henry Cavill's SUPERMAN" Should have never met? But they didn't meet. So, shouldn't the title be Why his batman should never meet henry cavill's superman?

Probably better not to shoehorn this great trilogy into this movie though.

i think its never been about wanting to see bales batman vs superman, but the nostolgia (doubt i spelled that right) that played with bales performance... he crushed it and was hard to imagine a better batman... i however, have always thought that if affleck committed himself, that hed be the best one yet... great insight fahqman... keep up the great work..

Also, Bale's bat couldn't have ever been able to battle with Superman. Affleck's Bat probably will ask the audience to suspend their disbelief a little bit more, which I don't mine at all. As long as the movie sells its logic just right.

I would've loved to see them make it work. There was nothing in that universe that disputed the existence of a Superman. With the right writer, it could've worked. With that said, I would be surprised if they got a writer capable of merging the universes correctly.

I know Josh, you just want to see the thread burn....but let me interject with a little reason. Bale's Batman was a [frick]ing awesome utilitarian on his mythos take that changed the film industry's view on superhero movies.

^ [frick]ing epic conclusion and fight.

Now, let's let Snyder and Affleck bring us a Bat like the Russos brought us a Cap

The Dark Knight Rises was a boring movie I tried watching it...but I couldn't get into the whole movie it was too damn long. I could only get into Batman Begins and The Dark Knight those were the only two movies that I like. When I watched The Dark Knight Rises in the theaters It was dragging by really slow. I didn't like how they did bane it was hard to understand what he was saying with his freaking British accent. I wonder if Ben Affleck is going to have a different Batman voice than Christian Bales Batman voice. It would be cool if there was a Marvel VS DC War Movie if they ran out ideas. I just came back from Hawaii from visiting all my cousins, uncles, and aunts I'm still on freaking Jet Lag though it feels like I'm jumping up and down like I'm riding on a rolar coaster at six flags LOL. Ai No Kea means ( I Don't Care"), Komo Iena means (Welcome) (Tu Kai) means Shit. I speak Polynesian LOL. In my opinion Christopher Nolan hasn't made any good movies since Inception. I thought Interstellar wasn't a good movie it was very confusing I didn't get the plot at all. The ending of Interstellar confused me he was like seeing his freaking daughter when he was like trapped in some type of "Thing".

Tim Burton and Michael Keaton also changed the film industry for CBM as well. But that's before most of everyone's time

Right, Nolan's Batman was dumb and weak. Put him in the normal DC world or the movie verse and he would be dead.

@BlackWarrior

You do realize these characters are fictional, right? That means literally ANYTHING can happen. George Clooney's Batman could take down Dr. Manhattan if the writer wanted him to.
