CONFIRMED: Jena Malone Is Playing 'Robin' Someone In BATMAN v SUPERMAN
As ridiculous as it might sound, Jena Malone's name has once again resurfaced in connection with Robin and not just because she recently dyed her hair red! Instead, it's an extra from the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice set who claims to have heard that she'll play Carrie Kelley...
When Jena Maone was seen visiting the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice recently, it didn't take long for sites to start speculating that she would be playing the female Robin in the Man of Steel follow-up (especially as the Sucker Punch actress dyed her hair red, just like Carrie Kelley). This time, just about every site - including Variety - have picked up on a report from WILX-10 News in which they claim to have been told by one extra that, "the character of Robin is now female". This is the same extra who revealed those details about a scene featuring Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor. The site reached out to Warner Bros., but they have declined to comment. It all seems a bit silly, but you can't deny that she looks the part and it would make sense considering that fact that director Zack Snyder is taking a lot of inspiration from The Dark Knight Returns. This anonymous extra apparently faces a fine of $5 million for breaking their non-disclosure agreement if caught, so why they would decide to risk speaking to these guys is unclear. What do you guys think?
UPDATE: It's rumour no more! According to The Hollywood Reporter, multiple sources have confirmed to them that "Jena Malone is in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cast...whether or not she is playing a female version of Batman’s erstwhile sidekick Robin, remains close to the Bat-chest." Who do you think the Sucker Punch actress is playing?
