Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will probably be the most talked about comic book movie for quite some time and not for good reasons. Whether you like the Ultimate Cut of the film or not, the theatrical version was what Warner Bros. chose to use, and it will be the version everyone will look back upon. Now that we're just days away from the premiere of Suicide Squad, the film that is set to place the DC Film Universe on the right path, director David Ayer spoke to JoBlo about the pressure that comes with the film, Geoff Johns, and his thoughts on Batman v Superman.
"I think the pressure is always to make a good movie, and in this day and age you have to expect the pressure," said Ayer before talking about what it's been like since he joined the DC Film Universe. "We kind of started out as the cool little brother, and now there's definitely a lot of scrutiny, but they're doing amazing things over there. Geoff Johns really has a handle on where this universe is going. A lot of talented directors, it's going to be a beautiful thing. I'm pretty confident, and I'm proud to be one of the ships in this big fleet that's coming at the world." Of course, most of that pressure comes from Suicide Squad having to follow Batman v Superman.
When asked about what he thought about Batman v Superman, Ayer had this to say: "I liked it a lot. I love Zack; he is probably the biggest fan of DC Comics. He has an incredible passion in a very specific way, a specific take on it. He's a smart guy, and I think he heard everybody, he heard them loud and clear, and you grow and you evolve. I thought it was a stunning movie, absolutely stunning. I wish I could get some of those shots in the can. The guy's an amazing visualist."
