Yesterday, Henry Cavill's review of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice surface online. Cavill called the film, "Epic, Thrilling And Visually Spectacular". That's not too surprising given that Cavill is one of the stars of the film. That's not too dissimilar from the review Anthony Mackie gave Captain America: Civil War, where he said the film should receive an Oscar nomination. Today, EW's latest issue is focusing on Zack Snyder's superhero gladiator match and says---
"Nobody In This Film Is Pulling Any Punches...Beneath the action set pieces is an intricate tale of hidden agendas, psychological turmoil, and even some complex theological questions- plus alot of smashing. "
EW adds that although much of the film is devoted to Henry Cavill's Superman and Ben Affleck's Batman, Dawn of Justice is also very much a Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) origin story. They also echo the sentiment that most early screeners have shared, Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman steals the show in her supporting role.
For those of you who may want an alternate take on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Civil War actor Frank Grillo provides just that. At this past weekend's Wizard World Cleveland fan expo, Grillo stated, "
I’ve seen that Batman/Superman movie…and all I’m gonna say is that if you’ve got 15 bucks in your wallet…you might as well save it.” [via
