After having enough time to digest Warner Bros. shocking casting announcement, people began to wonder how Lex Luthor will be portrayed by Jesse Eisenberg ("The Social Network") in Zack Snyder's untitled Batman/Superman film. We've seen some logical speculation from Drew McWeeney of HitFix and yesterday The Hollywood Reporter chimed in with some of their own details, however, El Mayimbe has potentially trumped them all. Below, you will find a character description for the new Lex Luthor, as well as a scene description involving him and Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck). This information is said to be from an early draft of the script and not the final one which is still being worked on by Argo screenwriter, Chris Terrio.

Lex Luthor is BALD. His head is shaven to be exact. But that is not all. He has another physical trait. You see, Lex Luthor is also into body art and has a detailed sleeve tattoo of the Metropolis skyline on his right arm. Lex is also the richest man on the planet who became a self made billionaire at 18. Lex is currently the CEO of Lexcorp who is one part tech genius, one part ruthless business man and two parts Metropolis street tough. Yes, street tough.

At 14 Lex was living on the streets and for survival was initiated into a street gang. He learned early on that there was someone always bigger and stronger but never smarter. By 15 that street gang was answering to him. According to Lex, strength isn’t everything. RESOLVE is.

Bruce considers Superman an impressive specimen. Lex considers him an alien, and a trespasser that doesn’t belong on this planet. Superman is just one of the reasons Bruce came to visit Metropolis. He has an interest in the city’s tragic circumstances. More like profitable circumstances according to Lex.

The rebuilding of Metropolis is Bruce Wayne’s main priority and is in town to help. Bruce believes pooling their resources would better serve the citizens of Metropolis and Bruce is willing to put his differences with Lex aside and let bygones be bygones.

Jesse Eisenberg is defiantly a SPOILER!

:P

Seriously though, it sucks its been pushed back a year, really sucks.

Also less New 52 in the sequel would be nice, MOS felt too new 52 and that wasn't good.

Cool read.

Self-made billionaire at 18. Stupid. Joined a gang at the tender age of 14. Oh brother. Resolve is that stuff that cleans dog pee out of carpet, don't think he can use that to defeat opponents (unless you have a dog I guess). Maybe his cleaning products under the sink make him relatable to Metropolis. Double stupid.

This guy either had nothing better to write, or is just a douche who thinks people who read it are all idiots.

This article should be titled, "Latino-Review Thinks Everyone is Stupid... Well Aren't You?"

When will people learn that neither Wayne or Luthor will be paying money from their own pockets to rebuild Metropolis. Have you heard of any billionaires lately paying for disaster cleanup, rebuild and restoration before? NO. But they certainly have the infrastructure to bid for the projects to rebuild... meaning they stand to MAKE MONEY.

No!!! Gang member? Body art? If this were true, I'd say they're trying TOO hard to make him unique, and looks like they're treading into shaky ground.

Liked the line about Resolve over Strength, fitting.

[frick] EVERYTHING EL MAYIMBE SAYS.

According to that douchebag, we were getting Joaquin Phoenix as Lex Luthor.
Almost everything he says is wrong. Why should i believe this rubbish? LOL
The only thing he got correct was that Gal Gadot was among the final 3 candidates for Wonder Woman. THAT is it.

[frick]ing Bullshitting wannabe who thinks he deserves a Pulitzer LOL

I don't like the idea of Lex being hardened up on the streets of Metropolis by a street gang, and having a gigantic tattoo on his upper sleeve. The Bruce-Lex confrontation and rivalry sounds cool, but I just don't like this description of Lex.

Nightwing will be busy cleaning house in Gotham and picking up stragglers whilst Batman stops all the big criminals from ransacking a decimated Metropolis.

Also sleeve tattoos on Luther? You serious?

Sounds like a great charatecr. How the [frick] is Eisenberg going to pull that off? Eisenberg can´t ever play a street thug convincingly. BUt I like the take on Lex. More great ideas by Goyer and Snyder, but its all down to execution.

That info just screams "FAKE"! Not necessarily saying El Mayimbe's lying (although he could be), it sounds more like info that was leaked on purpose by WB, perhaps to catch one of their employees leaking info.

Having said that, there are aspects of that which I like. The whole "growing up on the streets before becoming a self-made billionaire" thing seems pretty cool, and the thing about "there's always someone bigger or stronger, but never smarter", that sounds like an interesting way of handling Lex. What I don't like, however, is the gang stuff, partially because I couldn't imagine Jesse Eisenberg being in a gang, let alone becoming their leader. I also don't like the 'sleeve tattoo' idea, it just seems like an attempt to throw a modern trend at the character which doesn't fit. It's almost cliche. I also don't like the ages given, especially the "self-made billionaire at 18" line, it's not just stretching plausibility, it's actually impossible. You can't earn a billion dollars or more by the age of 18, especially if you start earning around the age of 15. A billion dollars in three years having started with no money or business? Nope. Less believable than a man flying.

I never like when Lex is written as a bad guy. I think the character is so much better when he's written as an everyman that wants to show that (in his own misguided way) a human can beat a "superman". This whole "street tough" thing has me worried. Make Lex a man of the people. Just as batman has his way, which is different than superman's. Do the same for Lex. Give him a win at all cost personality. But please don't give us the '80s, multicultural street gang. That would suck.

I'm hoping if this has any truth to it, it's an early summary that has since been dumped with Chris Terrio and Jesse Eisenberg on board. I'm hoping they'll class it up a bit. The street gang, 18 year old billionaire, tatted up thing sounds like it is trying way too hard. They don't need that shit.

I am a fan of his relationship with Bruce though. That is very cool. I would think if Lex is interested in Batman, he would send someone to Gotham to pick him up. But since Bruce Wayne is in Metropolis, who else would that person(s) find instead?

Nightwing?

You peolple bitch about EVERYTHING.

You [frick]ers.

Why don't you all go in that article about Lily being Janet, and Lang's girfriend?

Oh! It doesn't matter, does it? Marvel can make Mandarim a freaking joke, Pym an oldman, BUT, that's "ok".

Double standard. [frick] that.
BoneSawIsReady
BoneSawIsReady - 2/6/2014, 3:41 AM
For the sake of a better narrative, Bruce and Lex should be at odds over technology, like the world engine. Rebuild of Metropolis pales in comparison to alien tech, and aliens in our midst. I don't agree with this idea of Lex being Richest Man Alive, that's just useless. More money than God is just more money. Is there more advantage to being the richest man alive than just being a billionaire? I say NO. Same with whoever came out with the scoop about Lex and Clark being friends, it's simply not a novel narrative and I will be bored. If they proceed with either of these routes, I'm only buying a ticket for the spectacle.

@Nail, I retract my comment about El being a douche, but he is stretching too far with this story.

You know...

I read someone comenting how DC is like that "older child", and Marvel is like the "youngest child". So people tend to expect "more" from the "older child", while the "youngest child" tend not to have so much "pressure", about making things right.

Yes, i am biased. Yes, your admiration for El Mayimbe is commendable. Props to you for standing by your boy.
But i feel that El Mayimbe has a clearly bloated sense of self-worth (seen from his tweets) and is really just overplaying his status as a scoop hunter.
It's like throwing seeds into the wind and hoping one of them plants. Sure, he's gotten a few scoops right in the past. Hell, i'm sure if anyone wants to, they can hunt one or two down themselves. But that doesn't translate to anything other than that he's somebody on the internet with a voice. I wouldn't hang on to every word he says nor would i automatically give him the benefit of the doubt. He's just like you, and he's just like me. A FEW scoops here and there won't change that.

You are right, he didn't start the Joaquin rumor, and i'm sorry about that. But the fact is that he was confident he was right, and in the end, we got Jesse Eisenberg. How did this wise and powerful scooper miss that? LOL

UrbanKnight
UrbanKnight - 2/6/2014, 4:04 AM
Gangbanging at the tender age of 14? lol

14 is not too young to join a gang.

That's actually about the average age. Some join as early as 12-11 or younger! Some are even just sort of born into a gang through relatives.

For example, my brother in law was a gang member and was KILLED at the age of 14!

Right after he did a drive by on some enemies with a moped. True [frick]ing story.

Haha yeah that makes sense. A lot of people tend to just pass the mistakes or shittyness of some of the Marvel based films because, well, i guess because they're just for 'fun', like movies to have a good laugh at the theater or at home and that's it. Their reaction to the DC films is very curious though, like outright claiming it's shit without giving them the benefit of the doubt because i guess they're expecting more from them
