Filed Under: Batman vs. Superman

The San Diego Comic Con event for 2014 has come and gone and the fans got what they wanted, first looks at almost everything, with the DC trinity now fully revealed but not yet together we can at least start to look foward but before we do I want to look into what in my opinion is the best looking costume not only of the 2016 Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice movie but dare I say the BEST costume for a female Hero EVER in the history of CBMovies/CBSeries. So let's begin by first looking at the TRUE suit, yes the real suit not the filtered pictures that we got at comic con to keep fans talking.

That's better now! well we can clearly see a few details, the suit has an original feel and look to it but anyone with a little knowing of comics and Media will know that this suit pays tribute to almost 3 different Wonder Woman looks from all around her history, from the Blue skirt true to her early days, to the most recent adaptations of her costume from the movies & comics with Sword in hand the First lady of comics shows that she means to fight, what is also often overlooked by many since the costume reveal is the fact that we have the Lasso of truth on her side, this is interesting as it brings a new world of layers to make Diana the most interesting character in the movie, we have already seen set pictures of her as Diana Prince , so she is no stranger to the outside world, but in battle will Wonder Woman place her lasso on Bats or Supes to make them spill the beans on who they really are? Will she use it on Luthor? or is it just a battle item for her?

Multiple users have showered their keyboards with tears as they whine and moan about her boots but wait a second, to me those [frick]ers look like armor and only the bottom sole is actually a boot/shoe it self, so to put it simple if Wonder Woman hists you with a knee/shin/Punt kick(wrestling fans will get it) you're [frick]ing done, it's over for you and your face, so most likely after a hit from that your face will be looking worst than Maise Williams (Hi Pasto).

The Guantlets as always will reflects bullets and be used to hit a few times  considering they are longer than other versions, I doubt that we wil see the Tiara used as a boomerang, but I can see it being used for headbutts hence the downwards design, imagine WW giving someone a headbutt busting both their heads open as she then stands there with a smile on her face and blood dripping down her lovely skin as a crimson mask begins to dawn on her face! that's epic AND Badass. I predict that the suit most likely will either be all armor or a special armor made by the gods/blessed by the gods, the only negative I find is that she has no Shield or at least we can't see it because I still think she will have her side on her hip/side and a shield on her back hence the holder on her chest but besides that this is the perfect and best suit for a woma in a CBM/Series EVER.

With that I think I covered everything, so I must say that using a little imagination, looking at history and using what we already know & Saw from the BVS:DOJ set this Wonder Woman IS FUNCTIONAL, her suit is for battle and dare I say it is the best suit of the 3 and the most prepared to HURT someone, I am thankfull that we don't get another Spandex covered woman  (Black Widow, Catwoman) with a few gadets and that makes them heroes not unbeatable, we all know WW counts with the powers/blessings of the gods...and now she has the blessing of THE EXCELLENCE OF EDITORIALS! DCGUY!

PS: here's a closer look at the suit just in case you want to touch on some details I might have missed.

Alrightish suit. Could have been so much better in my opinion.

I absolutely love the new costume, I dont mind the look with the filter, but if that picture truly is corrected without the filter, and not just photoshop, then it looks [frick]ing awesome.

Great article

I'm going to pretend I didn't read that so we can potential hold a rational and non-hostile conversation over the costume as fans of this character as oppose to an argument because of a arbitrary remark.

@TheMexicanSuperman

False. I have referred to both the Superman suit and Batman suit as "perfect" with only one issue present in the former which I can easily overlook.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 7/31/2014, 3:55 PM
@TheMexicanSuperman you must know by now that @Klone is either an insecure person projecting his insecurities onto Wonder Woman perhaps out of childhood trauma of wanting to be her? and is never happy with anything yet he does not make an editorial to put his money where his mouth his and do justice to WW like he says he can...

@DCGuy

I lack motivation and ability to construct a half way decent editorial considering I would be frustrated by not being able to list every single little thing that as occurred to me such as world building, visual motifs, etc. and have struggled to but into words some visualizations.

So there's your explanation on why I won't write an editorial, despite attempting to do so in the past. And about the first part of your comment. I shall again pretend I did not read that.

This is rich. CBM users telling other CBM users to stop being pessimistic and just be happy.

Isn't the defining quality of fanboys that they are NEVER happy with anything and always demand more?? That's actually one of the (few) things I admire about them.

Don't "settle" for whatever you get handed to you. You shouldn't whine all the time, obviously, but don't start jumping on the positive-thinking bandwagon either and just become content with whatever studios churn out.

Point is, stop worrying so much about perfectly inoffensive comments from users. Focus on the actual topic of this article. Carefully look at the movies/costumes/trailers/etc and decide what works for you and what doesn't. Don't just blindly hate on something for the sake of being pessimistic, and don't just blindly love something for the sake of being optimistic either.

*Gets off soapbox*

@Klone you can't be like this and then not deliver, you should at least do your best and bring to us what you think WW should be. You're only making excuses for not doing an editorial with at least 90% of your ideas on the site, will all the time and comments you make here I think you should give back to the site in that way. not to mention prove yourself.

@Darktower thanks bro I also think the same, it's epic & awesome

Anyways, my problem with the suit...has nothing to do with the actual suit itself, if that makes sense. The suit itself is fine, but I just don't think it fits in with what WB/DC is trying to do with their universe. EVERYTHING in Man of Steel was practical and functional, obviously drawing inspiration from Nolan's Bat trilogy.

But how exactly is WW's suit functional in a fight? If this is just a ceremonial thing and not her final suit, then that's fine I guess. We just have to wait and see.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 7/31/2014, 4:04 PM
It's funny that no one has admitted that despite any opinion or biased the WW costume is truly the best female costume we have seen in the history of live action hero films. Better than the 1974 WW, Better than Catwoman (80's, 04 & 2013), Better than Black Widow's, better than Batgirls, Better than Supergirl and anyone else in between.

@DCGuy

Motivation, my friend. I would not want to settle for a poor editorial (the now deleted three still embarrass me). It would take me a lot of time to create a good editorial, it would be extremely long, not everything is entirely thought out (all my ideas were thought up during 60 minute walks that occur usually 4 times a week).

And even if I did dedicate that much time and energy to a single editorial, it will be to little avail. Very little. Is this stemming from how I responded to your concept for Parasite and the suggestion of him having little character and development being intentional?
DCGuy
DCGuy - 7/31/2014, 4:07 PM
@SauronsBANE I clearly explained how this suit covers 80% of her legs, 90% of her torso, 20@ of her arms, not to mention that the boots & the armor on the legs can be great used in battle for lower body tactic along with the sword, the lasso, the gauntlets and tiara can be used for upper body melee
Klone
Klone - 7/31/2014, 4:08 PM
Anyways, do you wish to discuss the suit or not?
DCGuy
DCGuy - 7/31/2014, 4:08 PM
@Klone ok it's your loss then? anyways you can at least admit this is the BEST female hero costume in live action history right? (DC & Marvel only of course as the candidates to consider)
Klone
Klone - 7/31/2014, 4:10 PM
Given the lack of films dedicated to female superheroes and the ones that aren't exactly portrayed horribly still having pretty bland and non creative suits, yes it is the best one though that does not mean I am totally in love with it. It's decent enough.
SauronsBANE
SauronsBANE - 7/31/2014, 4:12 PM
@DCGuy, True, you did...but that does nothing to convince me that leaving her femoral arteries in both thighs, her neck and upper chest, and most of her arms COMPLETELY open to attack is functional or practical in the least.

In the universe they've created with Man of Steel, there really is no other justification for this suit other than it makes her look sexy. And IMO, that doesn't exactly fit in with the realistic, gritty, practical world that they're obviously going for.
DrKinsolving
DrKinsolving - 7/31/2014, 4:14 PM
@Klone

Honestly, I HATE to say this, but I don't know if it's the suit that bothers me or Gadot, I picture such a stronger female actor in the suit, I admit I haven't seen much of Gadot's acting other than the Fast and the Furious.... and I also really hate to say this, but I feel like she could be bigger, especially her Legs....

I know woman that relate to Wonder Woman and she looks way to skinny here, imo
DCGuy
DCGuy - 7/31/2014, 4:15 PM
@Klone my theory is that the suit will get [frick]ed up in the movie, I predict Gauntlets, tiara, stomach & part of skirt along with 75%-85& of the armor around the boots will also be destroyed along with Supes( entire chest,arms, cape will be gone and part of the legs will also be ripped up ) & Bats suit( both of the confirmed ones, the metal suit completely but the other one with only little face and a lot of leg,thigh, body and cape damage )
Klone
Klone - 7/31/2014, 4:15 PM
@SauronBANE1

I'm not totally in love with it, though if they do choose the provide reason for those exposed areas, it will likely be a cultural (which would make some semblance of sense given how DC Amazon are, the context, etc.)thing with what is safest and practical not be viewed as the utmost importance by her people. That's only if they choose to provide some reason beyond its "kewl" look.

Her suit doesn't look like it will hinder her from making Batman and Superman lunch.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 7/31/2014, 4:18 PM
@DrKinsolving sounds like you hate Gadot LOL also remember she still has time to bulk up and she will look bigger in the film regardless.
Klone
Klone - 7/31/2014, 4:18 PM
@DrKin

I would say a combination of both. The costume has some merits to me but other aspects of it bring it down. Gadot's pose is some off putting in this specific photo to me and something about it I can't exactly explain. Still, she does look more like WW from the neck up than I would have thought based on the pictures of how she is normally with the peak.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 7/31/2014, 4:19 PM
@SauronsBANE true but she has done that her entire history we can't expect her to wear gloves and long sleeves now right?

also the Supes suit is alien tech you can't & are NOT suppose to understand it.
Klone
Klone - 7/31/2014, 4:20 PM
@DCGuy

Then it must be an extremely powerful force to even come close to destroying the gauntlets. Also, DrKin doesn't hate Gadot based on that comment. He's not being vicious and hateful in the least bit.

Haha, yeah not feeling it yet, but she has time to bulk up, I trust Snyder, I hope her acting is up to par
Klone
Klone - 7/31/2014, 4:21 PM
Characters like Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter or even non DC stuff like Conan being more exposed will never bother me if the context makes sense. In those three cases, it does therefore I am completely fine with it.
SauronsBANE
SauronsBANE - 7/31/2014, 4:26 PM
@Klone, Yeah that's a possibility. That's the key though: IF they choose to provide a cultural reason for it. But personally, I'm not sure Snyder & Co are going to go the extra mile to do that.

@DCGuy, The history of a character can't be used as an excuse though. In Superman's history, he's ALWAYS had bright red underpants. Was anyone going around before Man of Steel came out and saying "True, but Superman's had bright red underpants his entire history, we can't expect him to NOT wear them now, right?" Wearing gloves and long sleeves isn't exactly as unheard-of as you're making it out to be (though I'd prefer armored gloves and plated sleeves that offer actual protection).

And his suit is alien, that's true. But the practicality that I'm talking about (and that WB/DC is obsessed with) is how they felt compelled to give a practical, functional reason for why that suit exists in the first place. Other movies would've skimped on that detail. But Man of Steel felt the need to come up with a whole backstory to the suit and the "S" symbol and all that. That's what I mean, not how the "alien tech" works or whatever.
DCGuy
DCGuy - 7/31/2014, 4:26 PM
@Klone I did not mean Hate like wants her dead just hate's that shes WW or her skills I dunno.

well depending on the mythos as you said, perhaps her armor is made by Hephaestus and blessed by aries but say she's in a battler and gets her ass kicked if she losses faith in the battle or her victory the armor goes weaker which it has happen in mythology before not sure if hers but some.

Klone

@Sauron

Who knows. They did provide a reason for the cape after all. I'd also like them to do MM's more classic look (albeit without those weird boots and high collar) as it makes him, like WW, more alien to the world as we know it.
