THEORY: What Brings Wonder Woman Into BATMAN VS SUPERMAN?

Batman Vs Superman may not be released until 2016, but that's not stopping comic book geeks like you and me from speculating, now is it? Since Friday's casting of Jesse Eisenburg as Lex Luthor, one idea as to why Wonder Woman has made her way into the film immediately popped in my head and I'm here to give you my thoughts.

Anyone who's ever read a comic knows about Wonder Woman's Amazon heritage. And I believe that it is that heritage that brings her into the film. Why? Two words: Mercy Graves.

Mercy Graves was a character that originally appeared within the DC Animated Universe via Superman: The Animated Series. In the show, Mercy was portrayed as a regular human being and the body guard of Lex Luthor. Graves has since appeared in other forms of media including other TV shows taking place outside the DCAU, video games, animated films and even the comics themselves (first appearance in Batman: No Mans Land). In this media she is portrayed in a number of ways including as an android, regular human being, and even as Lex Luthor's sister. In the comics, she is an Amazon.

Now that we know Lex Luthor is a villain in the movie, what if Wonder Woman comes to Metropolis because of Mercy Graves, who left Themyscira to work in man's world?

Thoughts? Sound off below.

Great theory. An idea that I was too lazy to voice in an editorial when they first started searching for dark haired women, as I did not believe that Wonder Woman would be in the film. But if she is posing as Lex's body guard or assistant or even a Wayne Enterprises investor I'd still like her to have the name Diana Prince just to keep away from general audience confusion.

I really hope Mercy is in the movie. Plus her other fellow Amazon Hope Taya. I think it would be interesting to see two Amazons being the bodyguard to Lex. Because they both are in the comics and this version of Lex is going to need all the help he can get.

I really hope your wrong, but its just such a bad idea that knowing Snyder and Goyer you might be right.

Actually, an idea just came to me about one way they could handle all these rumored cameos. What if the beginning of the movie reshowed scenes from the end of MoS, the world engine starting, the destruction of Metropolis, the fight, etc. And then, interspersed between these scenes, the reactions of various heroes are shown. Aquaman is shown feeling tremors in Atlantis from the world engine. Flash is shown watching the news (if they use Gustin, they could film a scene that would be used in the movie & tv show.) Green Lantern's ring notifies him of the trouble, and maybe even displays a hologram of what is happening. Batman watches a view from one of his Wayne Enterprises' satellites, until it suddenly show 2 figures flying towards it before going blank. Wonder Woman and the Amazons feel tremors, or maybe sense something or even have a way of monitoring man's world.

You could do that, and have that be it for all of them except Batman and Wonder Woman. Bruce Wayne decides to investigate Superman closer and help Metropolis. And Wonder Woman decides that the island may be endangered and so enters man's world to get a closer look at what happened, and to see if this Superman is a danger or not.
