They're Not Just Filming BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN, But Two More Films As Well

A costume designer from the film confirmed he will be on the set from April - December, but surely that's a bit long to for just one film.

**WARNING there may be mild spoilers ahead which aren't actually spoilers but very good theories I have come up with which might be true**

Batman-News reports that "Henry Cavill News caught up with costume designer Michael Wilkinson, who revealed that he’ll be in Detroit from mid-April until December."

Now think about it, principle photography doesn't necessarily take that long to film, the filming on Man of Steel was only expected to last two to three month, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 only took about 3 month to film while this (Man of Steel 2) is expected to last about 9 month which begs the question, are they really only filming one film?

I personally (with common sense in mind) think what most people are thinking, their not just filming this one film but following it up with the rumored Justice League film, but then not just that, but following it up with yet another film. Why you ask? well lets lay all the cards on the table and built a civil judgement.

Over the past few months I have been closely observing online for evidence and little tidbits about the film, so far we know that:

- The Rock is part of a DC film this year
- Gal Gadot is Wonder Woman
- There costumes for Batman, Wonder Woman and a new updated costume for Superman
- This is not yet confirmed but Superman would be in exile and have Goatee
- Jesse Eisenberg is Lex Luthor
- Has been delayed till 2016
- The Rock has mentioned John Stewart in his Instagram post about meeting up with the guys over at DC/Warner Bros.

Now one of the biggest hints there is that Dwayne'The Rock' Johnson confirmed he will be shooting a DC Comics film this year and has met with the good people at WB/DC about it. If you think about it there is only one confirmed film being filmed this year and it's the Man Of Steel squeal, if he isn't in that (which he probably isn't)he will be in another film shooting this year. Warner Bros. won't have more than one film filming at the same time, what would the point, but suspiciously Man of Steel 2 was pushed back a year due apparently to the time it would take for the post production phase, and then we hear the time was extended, so obviously there filming more than one film, or maybe one big film with a bunch of different characters which would then be split into multiple films (which is why we have so many people cast everyday and announced like Jesse, Gal, The Rock and Affleck) , they can't all be in one film, I have a feeling there not just filming one but THREE films.

One film takes about three months to film, they have nine months which would be perfect to fit three films, and with a gap way until may 2016 I'am confident they will have enough time to post edit it and put in the CGI etc.

Another reason for this would be financial wise, people always talk about DC and Warner Bros. comparing them to Marvel Studios by how late their films are being released, and now with one film delayed a year, people ask questions at how they can compete, but think about it. If the film would have been released in 2015 it would have had to compete with the big two films that year, The Avengers: Age of Ultron and STAR WARS Episode 7, and with both companies promising new films each and every year (and now Sony doing the same with their Spider-Man franchise) , DC would have to delay films to promise the same, that way by releasing The superman sequel in 2016 they can compete with the new films the other studios are releasing, they can release the three films they already have ready each year starting 2016, give the actors a short break, a year or two, then bring them back to carry on at a steady pace. Ever heard of a trilogy of films called 'The lord of the Rings'? or the 'Hobbit' trilogy? they are doing the same thing by filming three films all together, the same with the Pirates of the Caribbeans films (which two of which were shot back to back).Ben Affleck and Cavill are already signed on for multiple film deals, and now Jesse Eisenberg is reported to be so as well, the same for Gal Gadot, and with the buzz already hyping about Batman fighting Superman in this highly anticipated sequel, it can very well be the biggest comic book movie released to date as this has never happened before, and with big names like 'Kevin Smith' and 'Matt Damon' promising that the new Bat suit is something bold and new the hype gets bigger everyday.

One final reason I would like to bring to the table would be story wise. Man of steel was the beginning, Batman vs Superman/Man of Steel 2 will be the bridge, the rumored Justice League film would be the main body and the next film would be the aftermath, instead of having separate films like Marvel for each character, they can immediately continue the main story but focus on another character maybe, that is up to the studio and the writers though and is their decision, but releasing a film every year seems to be the trend these days and if they want to keep up with it, delaying one film a year might have to be the sacrifice.

If and I mean IF they are filming 3 films, then that should shut-up the people saying WB/DC is to scarred to release more then one film every 4 years.

I believe this as well. It think they are filming two films back to back. I'm also liking that Batman costume remixed for Caps from the Avengers.

Please, for the love of Odin, get that punctuation and grammar looking good before you post. The title alone has got spelling mistakes.
*They're not just filming Man of Steel 2 etc.
Sorry to be a party pooper, but that's bugging me so much.

Um, maybe English is not his first language or maybe he has a very extreme case of dyslexia. Either way, it's coherent.

By the way, that fan edit of Superman's costume... I really hope that is what they mean by "tweaking". But more red, bit more vibrancy, etc.

Well, it could also be so that they shot in 9 month because of everybodys schedule. But yeah, it could be so that they filming some movies back to back as well.

Maybe, but probably not. Look at how long The Dark Knight shot for. Late April to mid November.

It's a large ensemble of characters, there could just be a lot of time built in for different actors' schedules and reshoots.

2 films, maybe. 3 films makes no sense. And DC has not yet confirmed anything about the Rock. It could turn out that he is in an entirely different movie.

If they are filming back-to-back, then they will need to reveal that at some point as sooner or later the Rock or any other cast member is going to be spotted on set.

It seems like they are, but maybe they are just filming Batman vs Superman, and Trinity back-to-back

Cool theory, but I don't think it'll be three films. Maybe 2 and if so YES!

I wouldn't use The Lord of the Rings or Hobbit as an example LOTR took 18 months and H 266 days of filming. That's not even counting the post production. But I would love that if in the nine months they can at least make two movies. I truly believe they will shoot JL with B/S. But if by some chance WB films three movies together I will be super glad. I do think its possible that three movies could be made but think it will be two instead.

I wonder where Jason Momoa fits into all of this. I know he's not confirmed.
but it would be cool if he was Hawkman

I think it is pretty clear that there will most likely be two back-to-back films. But keep in mind the actors' filming schedules - I'm pretty sure Affleck /'s wife said he didn't start until Summer...

I just don't understand why their costume guy needs to be involved in filming for so long. I mean, once they've made the costumes, isn't he pretty much done?

You've got to edit your writing. I had to stop reading as you improperly use homonyms along with typos.

I have my doubts but it's still an interesting and plausible theory. I just think it would be great if WB's did release more than one DC comic book film every year there for to keep up with the dominant cinematic competition so far which is of course Marvel Studios but i would prefer quality over quantity.
