BLACK ADAM: New Details Revealed About Sabbac's Origin Story In Upcoming DC Movie - Possible SPOILERS

Black Adam looks set to be one of this year's biggest superhero films, primarily because Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is finally making his superhero anti-hero movie debut. While that October release date is rapidly approaching, it feels like we haven't seen much from the DC Comics adaptation, even in the midst of a lot of big promises from the actor.

Whether Black Adam really does manage to change the hierarchy of power in the DCEU remains to be seen, but we now have a closer look at the movie's big bad, Sabbac.

He's only been shown in promo art up until this point, and while this action figure shows off that big-screen design, a description offers some long overdue story details. Aladdin star Marwan Kenzari plays the villain, but which version of the character are we getting? It appears it will be an amalgamation of Ishmael Gregor and "The New 52" iteration introduced by Geoff Johns.

"Possessed by a demon, a military Intergang leader transforms into Sabbac, the only being whose powers are equal to those of Black Adam," it reads. "Determined to take over Kahndaq and maybe the whole world, Sabbac must be stopped, and the fiercely autonomous Black Adam may need the help of some unlikely allies to outmatch him."

So, Black Adam and the Justice Society against Sabbac; sounds pretty good, right?

In the comics, Sabbac is a longtime enemy of the Shazam Family and a demonic entity that lends its powers to those he deems worthy. In a recent story, he set out to take over the world on behalf of Black Adam, but they clearly won't be allies in the DCEU. He's also had ties to the Seven Deadly Sins, so it's possible that's how this movie will link up to the Shazam! franchise.

Black Adam looks set to electrify audiences in theaters when it's released on October 21.
