Major spoilers for Black Adam follow.

Unexpected character cameos are almost par for the course with superhero movies these days, and studios will usually do their utmost to keep a lid on any major surprises for as long as possible. This has becoming increasingly difficult in this age of scoops, leaks and spoilers finding their way online so frequently, and we learned about Superman's appearance in Black Adam quite a while before the movie hit theaters.

While speaking to /Film, producer Hiram Garcia expressed his frustration with the post-credits scene featuring Henry Cavill's Man of Steel leaking so early.

“Oh my God, it is so frustrating,” he said. “You work so hard, but look, we understand that this ending and this dream, this family dream that we had to bring to life, we knew that it was going to have an effect on the fans that were just like, 'Oh my God!' We heard them begging for it for so long.”

While these sort of leaks are unfortunate, it's worth pointing out that star Dwayne Johnson all-but gave the game away himself while promoting the movie! Warner Bros.' marketing team has also wasted little time in capitalizing on Supes' involvement (see below).

We recently learned that Warner Bros. Discovery is tentatively planning at least one more solo Superman movie starring Cavill, but it doesn't sound like anything is set in stone just yet. At any rate, setting-up Black Adam vs. Superman as one of the building blocks of the "new DCEU" is certainly not a bad place to start.

Have you been to see Black Adam yet? If so, what did you think? Were you aware of the Superman cameo beforehand? Be sure to drop us a comment down below.
