Work on Black Adam is close to wrapping up, and we're expecting some sort of official look at the movie to drop in the coming days (if not, then we're betting it will be during October's DC FanDome).
In the meantime, Dwayne Johnson has shared a new behind-the-scenes photo offering our best look yet at his costume (from behind), and it definitely appears that the suit shares the same level of detail as the one Zachary Levi's titular hero will don in Shazam! - Fury of the Gods.
"This image of Black Adam from behind gives you a tactile sense of the absolute massive scale and size of our movie. You also see a little of the intricate and beautiful textured detail of Black Adam’s body suit (this is not your typical DC or Marvel padded muscle suit)," Johnson says.
"And finally you get a glimpse of the enormous and appropriate destruction. As we all know, superheroes have a code of justice and don’t kill the bad guys. But, Black Adam does. The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is changing. Antihero. Man in black. Protector of his people."
It's fair to say this movie can't get here soon enough, and this is an exciting tease from Johnson. A full costume reveal before DC FanDome really doesn't feel like it's outside the realm of possibility, especially when cameras are about to stop rolling before Black Adam heads into post-production.
The movie is set to be released on July 29, 2022 after being delayed as a result of the pandemic.
