BLACK PANTHER Character Portraits Highlight The Movie's Stellar Cast Including Shuri And Killmonger

An amazing series of character portraits for Black Panther have been released giving us a closer look at the main heroes and villains but it's T'Challa's mother and sister who may be the most intriguing.

Had enough of Black Panther yet? The answer is obviously no, so you'll no doubt be very happy to see that Entertainment Weekly has released a series of character portraits featuring nearly the entire cast. You can find those below but the site also has some new details on each of the movie's characters and of particular interest are those revealed in regards to T'Challa's mother Ramonda and sister Shuri.

Now, if you're a fan of the comic books you'll obviously be well aware that Shuri (Letitia Wright) ultimately takes over the Black Panther mantle and while there's no mention of that happening in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it still sounds like Wakanda's weapons designer will be a force to be reckoned with thanks to Vibranium-enhanced panther gauntlets she wears on both of her hands.

Angela Bassett, meanwhile, is Wakanda's queen mother, as vital to T'Challa and Shuri now as when they were children. "Her goal in the film is to help T’Challa become king of Wakanda in a peaceful transition of power, serving as a de facto advisor to the throne," executive producer Nate Moore says. "However, as things get complicated for our hero, she sets aside any political functions and instead operates as a mother whose sole concern is the physical well-being of both of her children."

Which of these Black Panther characters do you think will be your favourite? Sound off below.

These picture are amazing and vibrant, as someone who grew up with a lot of friends of African Origin glad to see them be represented as Superheroes on screen.

Gives me hope of one day seeing Kamala Khan represented on screen, and have an awesome Superheroine who shares an Asian origin, with me.

@SimplyAz - Finally read Kamala Khan's first few issues of Ms. Marvel: it's so damn good! I definitely think we'll get around to her at some point, she's very unique from all the superheroes presented thus far. Her powers, her background, even her superhero setting. I definitely think she's in the realm of possibility, most likely a Phase 5 addition.

I like BP's new suit. Though I do prefer his Civil War suit over this new one. It'll be interesting to see what upgrades the new one comes with.

@Kr08 - both work, small tweeks but new costume is a bit more comic accurate

@Kr08 - It looks as though they've simplified the suit and gone for a less busy look by removing some of the pattern work on it.

I really liked the Civil War suit, it looked absolutely bad-ass and is one of my all time favorite live action super hero costumes. The new suit looks just as good but I wonder if they'll address the change on screen?

Man, the colors from these pics are burning up my monitor!

Guardians, Thor Ragnarok and this must be the most visually striking MCU releases to date. Dr. Strange was trippy....but the colors didn't leap of the charts until the dark dimension.

@Invasion96 - Both suits are pretty damn sweet, but this one hits home a bit more being that its more comic book accurate.
