BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER 3-Minute-Long Deleted Scene Finally Reveals Cut Everett Ross Subplot

Set photos for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever once showed Martin Freeman's Everett Ross in disguise, and that subplot is finally revealed in a three-minute-long deleted scene from the sequel. Check it out!

Production on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was a little chaotic, with the pandemic and a nasty injury sustained by star Letitia Wright causing a number of delays. The sequel eventually finished shooting, though, and arrived in theaters last November to positive reviews and a big opening weekend.

When cameras were rolling, Martin Freeman was spotted on set as Everett Ross looking vastly different to the version of the character we followed in the sequel's worst subplot.

Speculation about what happened has run rampant since the sequel was released, but thanks to io9, we now know this was simply a sequence that ended up being left on the cutting room floor!

Titled "Upstairs Toilet," this scene was originally going to play out after Namor took Shuri to Talokan City but before Nakia attempts to rescue T'Challa's sister. Ross infiltrates the NSA in an effort to acquire Riri Williams' confiscated laptop, and this was likely meant to serve as yet another reason he's eventually arrested by his ex-wife Valentina Allegra de Fontaine.

It's a fun scene, but one we'd argue would have slowed the movie down a little too much. While Freeman was great in the movie, he didn't have the best material to work with, and this could have ended up being an irritating distraction.

Unfortunately, there's no option to embed this deleted scene, so you can either follow the link in the Tweet below or click here to check it out.

"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever ranks among Marvel Studios' best movies, and is an emotional, uplifting, tour de force of a blockbuster," we said in our review last year. "Letitia Wright delivers a powerhouse performance, while Angela Bassett’s majestic work will leave you reeling."

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will debut on Disney+ on February 1 ahead of its DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD release on February 7.
