After the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman the Black Panther franchise was left hanging in the balance. Director Ryan Coogler decided not to recast the role, which left lingering questions of how this franchise moves forward. In this video from the Modern Movies series, we will be taking a look at the new film from Disney and Marvel to see if Wakanda Forever can be more than just a tribute to an actor taken too soon. Does it have what it takes to stand upright on its own as a good movie?

As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o) and Everett Ross (Martin Freeman) and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda. Introducing Tenoch Huerta as Namor, king of Talokan, the film also stars Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Mabel Cadena and Alex Livanalli.
